Foreign banks is named after the very location it’s supposed to represent, but it doesn’t quite shoot there.

The beloved Netflix series is returning for Season 4, with the first episode airing on October 10th and the second episode on November 7th. The past three seasons have taken the Pogues — John B (Chase Stokes), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) — all over the world while filming in Barbados and its capital, Charleston, SC

Now the Pogues are on a new adventure, also mostly filmed in Charleston. However, the second part promises a trip abroad, with the cast traveling to Morocco for a month in early 2024.

“We got to go to a place that none of us had ever been before,” Cline told PEOPLE about filming in Morocco. “It was a whole new experience that we all got to share. And I feel like those kinds of shared experiences, especially on location and in these faraway places, are really, really special and memorable.”

From the shores of North Carolina to the spooky churches of Charleston, here are all the filming locations Foreign banks season 4

Kildare Island

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Kildare is a fictional island in the show, explained to be part of the Outer Banks area of ​​North Carolina. In the first season, John B explains that Kildare is divided into two rival groups, the wealthy Kooke who live in Figure 8 and the lower-income Pogue, who inhabit the southern side of the island known as the Cut.

Although the true Outer Banks lies along the coast of North Carolina, including coastal communities such as Dare County and Kill Devil Hills, Foreign banks he filmed primarily in Charleston, SC, as well as Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, a town eight miles east of Charleston.

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

After finally finding the long-lost treasure, the Pogues cashed in on it for more than $1 million. With their newfound wealth, they invest in buying and remodeling JJ’s house, as well as opening a surf shop. Inspired by the time they stayed on an island they called “Poguelandia”, they renamed the new territory Poguelandia 2.0.

The house/store was meant to replace John B’s home, The Chateau, as the Pogue’s main hangout after Rafe burned down the home in season three.

“We knew the people who owned the area and it’s just a bunch of land, so we were able to build this two-story house and this dock at the end of the water that plays a big part in the story,” Daviss told Netflix.

Stokes said he even put in some of his own sweat and muscle to help build the estate “like Chase, not like John B.”

Beach for the Enduro race

Location: Fort Fisher State Recreation Area in Kure Beach, North Carolina

JJ bets his group of friends’ last nugget of gold to win an Enduro dirt bike race on the beach, which is filmed at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area as the only beach that would allow four-wheel drive beach access. The rest of the race through the woods was filmed an hour’s drive away at Rocky Point, North Carolina’s Copperhead Ranch.

Genretta’s house

Location: Admiral’s House in Charleston, South Carolina

At the end of season 3, the Pogues are presented with a new mystery: Blackbeard’s treasure. After spending all the money, the group accepts an assignment from Wes Genrette, who believes his family is cursed due to an amulet stolen from Blackbeard’s wife.

The family visits him and his brother-in-law on Goat Island, a place said to be haunted, to discover the family’s dilapidated and ghostly home.

The mansion, in real life, is nothing more than the Admiral’s House and the G District in North Charleston.

Kildare Hospital

Location: May Forest State Park in Charleston, South Carolina

After a night of reckless diving that leaves JJ and Kie without oxygen, the two spend a night in the hospital in a hyperbaric recompression chamber due to “the bandage,” a condition that occurs when nitrogen dissolved in body tissue bubbles up.

The hospital is located in May Forest State Park in Charleston, near where the rest of the season is filmed.

Rafe’s house

Although the Cameron family used to live at Tannyhill Plantation, it looks like Rafe has new things to do in Season 4 — along with a new person he cares about, Sofia. In episode 3, the couple spend time lounging on his lawn while Rafe considers a tempting business offer.

Rafe’s new nursery is set in Figure 8, but is actually located in Mount Pleasant.

Charleston Church

In the final episode of Season 4, Part 1, the gang travels to Charleston, where they spot a church that solves the puzzle they’ve been trying to solve. The exterior of the church – which includes the cemetery where John B sees the grave of an ancestor – was shot at the Circular Congregational Church, while the interior takes place at the Unitarian Church, both in Charleston.

Pope finds the entrance to the catacombs they’re looking for inside, and he, along with Sarah, descends to yet another new location: the Old Exchange Building (Provost) in Charleston.
