The Amazing Race is back with another exciting season. At $1 million, couples can’t wait to get in and explore the world. For the first time, the series will premiere outside of the United States. But that’s not the only change for the upcoming season. This season, instead of 11, about 12 teams will fight for the championship title and there will be no non-knockout matches. The full cast of Amazing Race has just been revealed, where one duo stands out among the rest. Emily and Molly, twin sisters who were separated at birth, are on their way to winning one of the biggest races on television.
The two made headlines last year when they reunited for the first time since kids in Korea. They were adopted by different families and led completely different lives until a DNA test brought them together.
In a sneaky moment, host Phil Keoghan discussed The Amazing Race: New York.
“The start of the race is always super exciting because you have all the teams with all this potential energy, and then we have something to celebrate,” said the event organizer. .
The 400th episode of The Amazing Race will air on CBS on Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
Long-lost twins reunite to compete in season 34 of Amazing Race.
Emily Bushnell and Molly Sinert have been separated for 36 years and it was only last year that they discovered each other’s existence. Both were born in Korea and were adopted by two different families. Molly, the hospital manager, is from Florida, while Emily works for a law firm and now lives in Pennsylvania.
Wanda Sykes appeared as a guest on The Ellen Show with the two. They talk about the DNA test that led them to each other. Emily informed Wanda that her daughter was interested in locating Emily’s biological family and had been requesting a DNA test “year after year” for the past 5 years. Molly requested a genetic marker test after discovering she had no health history following a health scare. Their lives were turned upside down on March 3, 2021 when the test results showed. Molly’s experience shows that she has a close cousin named Isabel. She then contacted Isabel through 23andMe and informed her that they share the same DNA and that she was adopted from Korea in 1985.
Emily stated:
“I received an email from 23andMe saying you have a relative and that relative is trying to contact you. She is clearly some kind of sister. I didn’t know at the time that she was an identical twin.”
Emily and her daughter then Googled Molly and looked at her videos and pictures, but even when it was so obvious, she still had a hard time believing it was her sister. The two recount their first meeting, which Emily describes as “the best day of her life.” Molly said they were both terrified and wondered if Emily was like her.
She went on to say:
“We both sobbed and it was a very beautiful moment. That day, our whole lives changed.”
The two discussed their childhood differences in an introductory video for Amazing Race, released by Entertainment Weekly. They talk about getting into the program to mean more than just making a million dollars; It’s also about spending time together. In the 34th season of Amazing Race, the public will learn how similar the reunited twins are as they vie for prize money and crowns.
