Cassie has been married to her husband Alex Fine since 2019.

The “Me & U” singer, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, first teased her relationship with Fine in December 2018, two months after she confirmed her split from rapper Diddy. The couple married the following August and welcomed their first child together, daughter Frankie, in December 2019. In March 2021, they announced the birth of their second daughter, Sunny.

Four years after breaking up with Diddy, Cassie filed a lawsuit against the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper on November 16, 2023, alleging that he raped and sexually trafficked her during their decade-long relationship. The next day, the exes made a settlement.

Fine has been supportive of Cassie throughout the legal process, a source told PEOPLE. And in May 2024, he spoke publicly after CNN released a 2016 video of Diddy assaulting Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel.

Fine grew up in Lake Orion, Michigan, and played football for Central Michigan University before starting a career as a personal trainer. Fine was a defensive back on the team between 2012 and 2014.

After graduating from college, Fine worked as a personal trainer in Los Angeles, working his way up to his own brand, Alex Fine Performance, which he launched in January 2015. He now works with celebrity clients such as Jennifer Aniston and Mark Wahlberg, and the cast of shows such as Riverdale and foreign banks, including stars KJ Apa and Chase Stokes.

In an interview with Ron Williams in 2021, Fine said that he became passionate about personal training because he realized that many of his clients were constantly surrounded by people and had little one-on-one interaction, so he felt a “special connection” with them. .

Shortly after they began dating, Cassie became pregnant with the couple’s first daughter, Frankie. Since they had already decided to get married before Frankie’s due date, Cassie said Vogue she didn’t expect a proposal.

“I knew Alex was designing the ring, but I honestly wasn’t expecting a super elaborate proposal because we already had a wedding date set, but he planned such a beautiful experience for me,” she told the outlet. “I was so surprised!”

Cassie thought she was getting ready for her birthday dinner with her family when she stopped to meet up with Fine, who was on location with the Compton Cowboys, a group that uses horseback riding to engage kids from inner-city Compton, California.

She was surprised when a Stevie Wonder song came on, and when she was escorted behind, she saw guys on horses with initials tied above them. Then Fine came on horseback.

“When he knelt, everything just stopped,” she said. “I felt as if I had lost my sense of hearing; I just saw his mouth move and he said ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ ”

The two enjoyed dinner on the beach with a bonfire. “I’ll never forget how special Alex made me feel that night,” Cassie said.

After the proposal, Cassie and Fine picked a date with just a few days to go and planned their wedding in record time. The couple tied the knot on August 28, 2019 with 14 of their closest family members in an “intimate backyard wedding,” as Cassie called it.

“We wanted a simple place with a beautiful view that was warm and romantic,” said Cassie Vogue. “We wanted the aesthetic to reflect how comfortable and satisfied we feel with each other.”

The couple wrote their own vows and Cassie walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Kina Grannis.

“I felt really relaxed during the ceremony,” Cassie said. “As soon as I saw Alex, any nerves I had were gone and I just couldn’t stop laughing.”

Cassie and Fine welcomed their first daughter, Frankie Stone Fine, on December 9, 2019, after announcing they were expecting in June. On March 22, 2021, their second daughter, Sunny Cinco Fine, joined the family.

After Sunny’s birth, Fine wrote a sweet letter on Instagram to his daughters, saying they were his “purpose.”

“I woke up this morning with you two and your mom and I took a moment to realize that we have created a perfect family that is not perfect but is filled with so much love,” he wrote in the letter. “I always thought my purpose was to inspire others through wellness and give back to those less fortunate, but I was wrong.”

In a sweet birthday message Cassie shared for Fine on Instagram in March 2024, she wrote how happy she is to spend her life with her “3 best friends.”

“There is literally nothing better than spending this life with my 3 best friends. I have to pinch myself everyday. I love you with my heart, to the moon and back forever 🫶🏽 Happy Birthday Alex! You have my heart forever ♥️,” she wrote.

Cassie supports her fitness company, Almost Home

Fine founded Almost Home, a fitness company that provides exercise plans, healthy recipes and merchandise “with the goal of helping you improve your life and then go the extra mile to improve the lives of those around you,” according to his website.

He often posts workout plans featuring Cassie, and both have written blog posts for the site discussing their health and exercise.

He supported Cassie when she sued Diddy

After Cassie filed a lawsuit alleging that Diddy kept her in a 10-year “cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking,” Fine sided with Cassie.

Cassie claimed he raped her after she tried to leave Diddy in September 2018. Diddy’s lawyer denied the allegations, and the day after the lawsuit was filed, she settled.

Through it all, a source told PEOPLE that Fine “helped her through a lot.” The source also gave an update on Cassie’s “close-knit” family, sharing that they’ve “made a little life for themselves” outside of Hollywood.
