Who Is Christina Hall’s Husband? All About Joshua Hall

Following her divorce from Ant Anstead in June 2021, PEOPLE broke the news that HGTV star Christina Hall (nee Haack, ex El Moussa and Anstead) was dating someone new on July 6, 2021 when she and Joshua Hall were pictured walking hand-in-hand through Los Angeles International Airport. The two were boarding a plane for Christina’s 38th birthday. She later revealed that at that time they had already been in a relationship for several months and noted that they had met in the spring of 2021.

On September 20, 2021, Christina on the Coast star announced that she and Joshua were engaged, posting several photos on Instagram of him getting cozy with the Austin realtor while celebrating his birthday in Mexico. In the pictures, she wore a diamond ring and captioned the post with five emojis: heart, infinity sign, lock, key and ring. She later added a ring emoticon to her bio.

In April 2022, PEOPLE confirmed that the two had tied the knot. The couple later celebrated their wedding with an intimate ceremony by the ocean in Hawaii.

Since getting together, Christina and Joshua have appeared frequently on each other’s Instagram feeds, including a post for Joshua’s anniversary in March 2023. He shared photos of the couple from the month they started dating, as well as every year on their anniversary.

“How long will this one last?” he joked in the description.

In July 2023, Joshua posted a photo of himself and the TV personality on Instagram to celebrate her birthday.

“Happy 40th birthday to my absolutely stunning wife! This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily,” he wrote. “I can’t say enough what an absolute force she is and what she’s capable of.”

He is a realtor based in Austin, but has ties to California

Joshua is a licensed realtor in Texas, where he previously worked for the brokerage firm Spyglass Realty. According to his previous realtor page, he specializes in buying and selling real estate in the greater Austin area and the surrounding hills. However, he has a personal connection to Christina’s home in Southern California.

After visiting Austin and falling in love with everything it has to offer, he moved to the city in 2017 from California, where he grew up.

“I just couldn’t leave without buying my own home in this little piece of paradise,” Joshua wrote in his realtor biography, adding that he was born near Austin, in Ft. Hood Army base, where his father was stationed while serving in the military.

He added, “As a young man, my family was scattered around the country for various military assignments before returning to their hometown in Southern California. My parents raised my two younger sisters and me there.”

His two younger sisters were also in the spotlight

Joshua is the older brother of Jessica Hall and Stacie Adams (née Stacie Hall), both of whom have been in the limelight over the years.

Adams rose to fame with her role on Hills, where she was known as “Stacie the Bartender” — the object of Spencer Pratt’s flirtations, despite him being in a relationship with his now-wife Heidi Montag. Adams is now married with two children, but found herself in the spotlight in the summer of 2020 when her former roommate, Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay, revealed that she and Adams were once in a “sexual relationship” with John Mayer.

His other sister, Jessica — who is also married with two children — is a former Playboy model and has a history in television, starting out as the host of an MTV reality series Burnt. Playboy co-star Kendra Wilkinson is one of Jessica’s best friends, and Jessica has regularly appeared on Kendra and Kendra on top. She also appeared in four episodes Hills along with her sister, she was one of the briefcase models Agreed or not in 2005.

Jessica also hosted a podcast called Flashbackswhich she previously led with her friend, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young — also a former Playboy model who is married to Christina’s first husband, HGTV star Tarek El Moussa.

He was already married

According to Jessica’s Instagram, Joshua married a woman named Chelsea in August 2016. Jessica celebrated their first wedding anniversary with a wedding announcement in August 2017 on the social media platform. It is not clear when Joshua and Chelsea’s marriage ended.

Jessica was one of the bridesmaids at the wedding and also attended Chelsea’s bachelorette party, based on a photo she shared on Twitter (now X). Wilkinson was also a guest and was pictured with Joshua at other events.

He and Christina were married in a secret ceremony

In April 2022, Christina and Josh got married after a year of dating. TMJ was the first to report the news, which was later confirmed by PEOPLE, with sources saying they tied the knot in California “sometime within the last six months.”

She later spoke about her private courthouse wedding in a December 2022 episode of the show Christina on the Coast.

“At this point in my life, I really appreciate privacy when I can get it,” she said. “So Josh and I decided to have a ceremony at the courthouse, just the two of us. Something private, just for us. And then, later, we’ll have a reception for the kids and family.”

Over Labor Day weekend 2022, the couple celebrated their nuptials with an intimate oceanfront ceremony for friends and family at Merriman’s Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii. Christina announced the special day on Instagram, captioning a photo of the couple, “Joint vows in front of family and our close friends. Everything in life has led me to where I am now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island .”

He was a police officer for 16 years and was injured on the job

According to Joshua’s realtor past page, he began his career in real estate later in life after serving as a California State Police Officer for 16 years. His police career ended when he suffered an injury.

“While living in Southern California, I realized my passion was helping others and became a police officer at the age of 21,” he wrote. “Before my 16-year career was cut short by line-of-duty injuries that ultimately led to early retirement, I took pride in helping people with their everyday struggles and making their lives easier.”

Joshua added that his police career actually helped him on his path to becoming a realtor: “With my previous career solving problems, helping others in difficult situations, and my love for real estate, I made the decision to get my real estate license in Texas.”

In July 2017, Josh’s sister Jessica posted on Instagram about her brother’s service as a police officer with the caption, “So proud of my brother Josh for his service as a Santa Monica PD officer for the past 16 years! Cheers to what the future holds for you .”

He likes dogs

Like his wife, Joshua seems to have a soft spot for canines — which is good news for Christina’s two pups, Cash and Biggie!

In his since-deleted realtor bio, Joshua said he enjoys his free time “exploring with my two dogs, floating on one of Austin’s many bodies of water, or flying to rescue puppies from a kill shelter.”

He likes to keep his relationship private, but will speak up to support his wife

On April 13, 2022, Joshua posted a message of support about Christina on Instagram. In his post, he shared two photos of him and his wife hugging in front of a picturesque seaside pool.

“This woman I call mine is nothing short of amazing,” he wrote in the caption. “No one or anything is going to stop her from achieving happiness/success. She doesn’t need anyone’s validation and she certainly doesn’t let anyone’s disapproval affect what she does with HER life.”

His message ended with a note about misconceptions on the Internet. “Reminder: social media is not reality,” added Joshua. “Some of the best moments are never caught on camera and never shared on any social media platform. They are kept private and cherished together with those involved.”

Enjoys family time

In May 2022, Christina shared a series of sweet photos from a family trip to La Jolla, California, with Joshua and her three children: Brayden, Taylor and Hudson. She shares son Brayden and daughter Taylor with ex El Moussa, and son Hudson with ex Anstead.

In the photos, the group of five, plus their dog Stella, pose together while standing on a large rock in front of the ocean. Joshua’s dad and stepmom are also in the second picture.

Other photos document Joshua spending time with Christina and her children in Las Vegas, at Halloween and Christmas, at theme parks and at home.

While Joshua seems to enjoy spending time with Christina’s children, he admits that being a stepfather has its challenges.

“Being a stepdad has a lot of adjustments,” he said during a June 2023 interview. Party tonight. “It’s an adjustment of my time. Instead of just having to take care of you, I have three little ones that I have to give as much attention to as you.”

In April 2022, it was announced that Joshua would join Christina in her HGTV spinoff Christina in the countrysidewhich documents their life and work of restoration in Tennessee.

“I am so excited and grateful Christina in the countryside is officially taken over,” Christina said in a statement she shared with PEOPLE. “I love that I get the best of both worlds — shore and land. It’s an incredible opportunity to work in Tennessee, our home away from home.”

The first season aired in January 2023 and featured many appearances by Joshua and even some of his family members, as Christina revealed on Instagram.
