Who Is Cody Ko’s Wife? All About Kelsey Kreppel

YouTube star Cody Ko (whose real name is Cody Kolodziejzyk) and fellow content creator Kelsey Kreppel are parents!

The couple welcomed their first child, son Otis, in January 2024 — less than a month before Ko and Kreppel’s first wedding anniversary.

In February 2023, shortly after they were married, the couple said The New York Times that they first got into an argument at Kreppel’s apartment in 2017, when her roommate invited several friends, including Ko. They shared a sense of humor and a passion for social media; the rest is history.

Per The New York Times, Kreppel is originally from Los Angeles. She attended California State University, Northridge for college and majored in Child and Adolescent Development. Ko and Kreppel currently live in LA

She is a former teacher

Before becoming a content creator, Kreppel worked as a teacher. Even when she succeeded in social networks, she continued to work as a teacher. However, in the end, the influencer decided to leave teaching and focus all her energy on her newfound passion.

During an appearance on March 4, 2023 at Okay sis podcast, she explained that her previous job was like a “security blanket” because she was good at it and enjoyed the permanent position. “I miss it, but I feel like I’ve grown a lot more not doing it because I’m not doing the safe thing anymore,” Kreppel said.

She continued: “I feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself and tackled things and done things I didn’t even think were possible. I feel that if I had stayed in teaching, I would have been perfectly happy and fine, but I would never have felt challenged.”

Kreppel documented her students’ graduation in a July 2021 YouTube vlog, showing her followers the flowers Ko gave her to celebrate the end of her online classes via Zoom. She called the children her “little zoomers”, and for the camera she modeled her prom “teacher fit” – a dark blue dress and a white sweater.

She is a social media star and podcaster

Kreppel is known for her humorous YouTube videos that take the form of vlogs, fashion reviews, content about her relationship and more. He also has a Dear Media podcast, Circular time, in which she “pairs the childlike wonder of preschool age with the realism and honesty baked into adulthood.” Kreppel’s celebrity guests included social media star Victoria Paris and singer-songwriter Maude Latour, among others.

In addition to creating for social media, Kreppel is also the founder of the fashion accessory line TRULUVA, which is dedicated to her late grandparents. According to an Instagram post, the brand’s name was the title of her grandmother’s wedding song and her grandmother’s license plate.

She and Ko met in her apartment

The couple revealed for The New York Times that they originally met at Kreppel’s apartment in Mar Vista, California in 2017. At the time, her roommate was hosting a gathering when Kreppel and Ko first met.

The YouTuber recalled the first time he saw his now-wife. “I thought she had really cool style and was really beautiful,” he said.

The attraction was mutual. “I felt like I could be funny and a little silly around him, and he understood that side of me,” Kreppel said.

After flirting and snacking on hard-boiled eggs that night (because that’s all she had in the fridge), Kreppel took to Instagram to announce they were getting back together, and the rest is history.

She and Ko often collaborate on social networks

Both Ko and Kreppel have their own channels and individual projects, but they also often collaborate. Social media personalities work together on YouTube series like “Couple’s Cringe,” where they react to cringe-worthy online content, and “Tinder Nightmares,” where they rate Tinder conversations.

Both creators are also regulars on each other’s channels. They enjoy previewing award show fashion on Kreppel’s YouTube channel and have posted videos on the 2023 Oscars, 2023 Golden Globes, 2022 AMAs and more. Kreppel also often joins Ko on his Insanely Chill podcast. Outside of YouTube, they bring their comedy to TikTok and entertain followers with funny commercials, interviews and dancing.

Since walking down the aisle, Ko and Kreppel have also been sharing the content of married life. Who appeared at the woman’s Circular time podcast to talk about their wedding, and Kreppel noted that he felt “so weird” using the word “husband.” She also posted a vlog titled “married life” in April 2023, which features the couple eating meatballs and behind-the-scenes footage of them filming a podcast episode.

Ko and Kreppel are proud pet parents. They share a dog named Chili and two cats, Brisket and Hamilton. According to the couple, all three siblings get along and play together.

On July 15, 2022, they uploaded a video to YouTube called “a family of five” about adopting cats. “They’re very loud,” Ko said. “They like to talk to us all the time… I don’t know if it’s normal, but they keep meowing which is great.”

He added: “They’re extremely friendly, like they’re really cuddly and a bit like dogs. Like when we come home they just run down the stairs to see us.”

Content creators enjoy sharing adorable and funny photos of their pets. “Chili just got a haircut :/ Please give him gas in the comments he needs it,” Kreppel captioned a July 2022 Instagram photo.

She and Ko walked the red carpet at the 2022 AMAs

The duo attended the American Music Awards in November 2022 and posed for photos together on the red carpet. Ko chose a classic black suit, while Kreppel wore a fitted tan dress.

She likes to “sing”

Kreppel likes to sing very badly to make her followers laugh. He has a highlight reel dedicated to singing on his Instagram page. She previously spoofed Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and Vance Joy’s “Riptide.”

In January 2023, Kreppel and Ko announced themselves working on a TikTok challenge where they sang along to karaoke without looking at the screen. Kreppel attempted to perform “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele, “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen and “Who Knew” by Pink.

She and Ko were married in Indian Wells, California

Ko and Kreppel were married at the Sands Hotel and Spa in Indian Wells, California on February 4, 2023. They had 150 guests and their close friend, Adam Cue, was appointed by the US Department of Marriage to do the honors.

The former teacher told The New York Times that their special day wasn’t about money or videos or likes. She added: “It was out of love. And that was just for us.”

Two days after the event, Kreppel shared photos of her and Ko’s wedding on Instagram. “The most beautiful way I can spend forever is with you,” she wrote. “The best weekend of my entire life. I love you.”

Ko captioned her wedding photos “2/4/23 the best day of my life.”

She and Ko have one child

In January 2024, Kreppel gave birth to the couple’s first child: a son named Otis.

“Our little one arrived last week and everyone is happy and healthy. We feel like the luckiest people in the world. We love you Otis,” the new parents wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of Kreppel cradling the newborn.

Ko and Kreppel announced they were trying in August 2023. They shared the happy news on Instagram; the post included a picture of the sonogram as well as videos of the couple speaking to their family members.
