David Boies Biography

David Boes was born on March 11, 1941, in the farming community of Sycamore, Illinois. His parents were educators. He has dyslexia and struggles to read and write. Boies’ mother used to read him stories, which he memorized because he couldn’t follow the words in the book.

His family relocated to California when he was 13 years old, and he attended Fullerton Union High School. Boes received his B.S. from Northwestern University in 1964, his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1966, and his LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 1967. He received an honorary LL.D. from the University of Redlands in 2000.
