Giovanni Reyna moved to America as a child because his father decided to join the New York Red Bulls. In addition, to improve his playing conditions, he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the youth academy of New York City FC. He spent his entire adolescence at the academy, quickly establishing himself as one of the best candidates in the country.
He even helped his youth team win the 2017 Generation Adidas Cup and was named the best player of the tournament. Furthermore, the 17-year-old helped the United States U15 team win the prestigious Torneo Delle Nazioni Cup.
