From 1981 to 1990, he was an outfielder and first baseman for several MLB organizations. The 1980 Golden Spikes Award winner began his coaching career with the Sarasota White Sox of the Gulf Coast League. Similarly, he managed the Philadelphia Phillies (1997-2000) before moving on to the Boston Red Sox (2004-2011) until joining the Cleveland Guardians in 2013. Additionally, the two-time World Series champion manager was the third base coach for the Detroit Tigers and bench coach for the Texas Rangers and Oakland A’s.

They also had four children: one boy, Nicholas, and three girls, Alyssa, Leah and Jamie. Nicholas, born July 11, 1985, attended the University of Pennsylvania before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox. He then joined the US Marine Corps and served as a sniper unit leader in Afghanistan in 2011. Alyssa (born April 7, 1987) and Leah (born January 27, 1990) were softball players at the University of North Carolina.
Alyssa Francona was also named Senior Associate AD for Development at Boston College for 2022. Jamie Francona, the youngest Francona, attended the United States Naval Academy and played volleyball.

Terry was going through a divorce with his ex-wife when he got involved with a girl named Venessa, who looked like she was in her twenties. He was also accused of sending half-naked pictures of himself to his then 27-year-old girlfriend. Similarly, the former Red Sox manager has been linked to Filipino-Canadian sports journalist Hazel Mae. Mae has also been on MLB Network and the New England Sports Network’s SportsDesk. There was also speculation that Terry’s reported relationship with the presenter was the cause of his divorce from Jacque.
Terry Francona Retirement Rumors
One of the league’s most powerful managers has hinted that he may step down as manager of the Cleveland Guardians. The Guardians finished their 2023 season with a three-game series against the Red Sox in April. Had Red Sox ownership been notified of Francona’s likely farewell season, they could have rightfully retired his uniform number in an on-field ceremony. The Red Sox hadn’t won a World Series in 86 years when he arrived, and it’s only natural that they honored him by retiring his uniform when he announced his retirement.
