Jim Leyland’s wife, Katie Leyland
Jim Leyland and Katie Leyland have been happily married for over 35 years. Patrick and Kellie are delighted parents of two children. Jim married Joanna Grow before he married Katie, but they divorced after only a few years. Katie O’Connor, the daughter of an ironmonger and homemaker, was about to complete a master’s degree in sports administration when she was hired as the Pirates’ events coordinator in 1986.
Katie met Jim Leyland, who was recently divorced, while she was with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jim was attracted to Katie from the start and felt that he wanted to pursue a relationship with her. Jim and Katie got married after a year of dating. Despite the difficulties caused by the premature miscarriage, the couple found satisfaction in the arrival of their children. During Jim’s managerial career, which took him to several locations, the Leyland family was primarily based in Pittsburgh.
Baseball Hall of Fame 2024

He was given the honor by a 16-member group known as the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee for Managers, Executives, and Umpires, which meets every three years.
