Before fully recovering from the surgery, she also competed in the 2006 World Championships and the 2006 Asian Games.
Heungkuk Life became the defending champions in 2006-07 with the support of Kim. The team was the first to appear in the regular season for two years and continuously won the finals. She was chosen as the MVP of the regular and championship seasons and the best captain. She was named MVP after leading her club to first place in the 2007-08 regular season. In the 2008-09 season, she became the main player of the Korean V-League, collecting 2000 points and 2000 attack points.
