Who Is Kym Marsh From “Strictly Come Dancing”?

The 20th season of Strictly Come Dancing will premiere on September 23. The show will feature many popular fan-favorite contestants. Kym Marsh, a 46-year-old actress, TV presenter and singer, is one of the show’s contestants competing in the next ‘for grandmas’ contest.

According to the official synopsis of the show:

“As the Bafta-winning show returns to BBC One, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkman will walk the red carpet for the Class of 2019. Then the all-star lineup will enter the rigorous ballroom for the first time, eager to find Find out which pro dancer they’ll find themselves in on the hunt for the coveted Glitter trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Kym Marsh became a grandmother for the second time in 2019.

Kimberley Gail Ratcliff has gone solo after two UK number-one songs and one UK number-one album. Furthermore, in 2003 she released the album Standing Tall, which peaked at number nine in the UK and resulted in two UK top 10 singles. She played Michelle Connor on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 2006 to 2019. She also won the British Soap Award for Best Debut Actress at the 2007 British Soap Awards. Even so, Marsh will co-present the BBC’s morning lifestyle show in October 2020 Morning Live.

The Universe Leap contestant has four children and has just become a grandmother for the second time. Kym wants to be on the next reality dance show to redefine what it means to be a grandmother. No grandma has ever won a glitter ball award, she said. Dr Xand van Tulleken told Kym on BBC Morning Live:

‘I don’t think an old lady has ever won a Serious before, so maybe you’re a pioneer!’

She replied with:

“I’m working for the grandparents out there.”

When it was confirmed that she would appear in the next season, she also said on the morning show:

“I thought about doing Serious for years, but the date never got sorted out. I’m so glad they have this year!

“I’m a huge fan of the show and I can’t believe I’m going from watching in my gowns at home to dancing in front of the judges in a glittery outfit, it’s amazing !”

Marsh also said her parents were hiding behind the curtain when she auditioned for the show and were even more thrilled to see her dance. Even so, the actress is still eager to master new forms of dance that will make a stark contrast to her pop world. Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One on September 23 at 7pm ET.
