Who Is Lauren Rogers From “Halloween Baking Championship” Season 8?

The Halloween Baking Championship is coming up and 12 bakers are ready to compete for $25,000 and an all-expenses-paid stay to ten Haunted Houses of America at the Henson Hotel. The eighth season of the popular Food Network competition series begins Monday, September 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Lauren Rogers, one of the contenders, wants to win the tournament for her grandmother after experiencing bigotry last year.

In February 2021, Gotti Sweets Lauren Roger bakery was spat on. Her business was sabotaged the same month, with someone spray-painting a car parked in front of her store. In response, the Halloween cake-making championship candidate said,

“Hate crimes and hateful behavior are terrifying.”

Rogers, like many in her community, was terrified of the police and did not report racist graffiti to them. She speaks,

“They advise you not to contact the police or they will come and shoot you.”

Lauren shared a photo of the spray paint on her Instagram, which caught the attention of police officer Olympia Vasile Kovzun. He returned the next day and promised to open an investigation into the incident. Officer Vasile and his colleagues have also increased patrols in the area. The officers were surprised to learn that someone in their community didn’t trust them and decided to help Lauren. Rogers praised their efforts, saying,

“I really appreciate this; I don’t expect any response from the city; I don’t believe people are paying that much attention.”

Currently, the police have no lead in the case.

Lauren then decided to pursue her hobby professionally by enrolling at Le Cordon Bleu Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon.
