Greenfield and Sanchez welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lilly, in 2009. The couple’s family expanded again with the addition of a second child, a son named Ozzie, in 2015.

At first, the couple wasn’t sure if they wanted to have children, Sanchez said Parents. She added that she was laser-focused on her career, but after having Lilly, they knew they wanted another.

“When Tess was pregnant with Lilly, I definitely didn’t think I was ready… But after Lilly, I knew I wanted another,” Greenfield said. “I was an only child and I wanted her to have a brother or sister.”

Sanchez was initially “fine” with only one child, but suspected she was pregnant before a trip to Disneyland, where she later threw up in Greenfield’s baseball cap after riding the Ferris wheel. Now, Sanchez says she “can’t imagine” life without her two children, who have been raised to be good people.

Three years after leaving the world of TV casting, Sanchez has announced that she is working on an upcoming book of essays titled Let’s go in another direction.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project takes a closer look at what it was like for her to switch roles from “working mom-boss” to “plus-one to her actor-husband,” as described by the publisher. The “unpleasant consequences” also occurred around the same time that Sanchez’s father, who was one of her “most loyal supporters,” died.

When the news broke, she shared a few words of her own on Instagram, expressing her gratitude to Greenfield in the process.

“Pull back the curtain,” she wrote. “[Thank you] @iammaxgreenfield who generously lets me talk about us and tell more than a few jokes about him. You will laugh and maybe cry. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Greenfield followed this up with his heartfelt message on Instagram. “A beautiful example of perspective and acceptance after a really s— few years. I love you. We love you,” he wrote. “And I really hope that Michelle Williams will agree to record an audio book. ❤️❤️❤️ .”

She is a united team with her husband

Sanchez said Parents that she is the “nuts and bolts” of their family operation and keeps things running smoothly, while Greenfield is “playful.” The actor revealed that sometimes when his daughter has a question he’s not sure how to answer, they’ll seek Sanchez’s opinion because of her no-nonsense approach to parenting.

The couple proudly introduced Darlene, the newest member of their family, in July 2023. Greenfield posted a photo of him and his wife cuddling in the grass with their dog, writing, “Meet Darlene❤️ @wagsandwalks ❤️ #themostbeautifulgirlintheworld.”

“New to the Sanchez-Greenfield family, welcome Darlene,” Sanchez wrote in her own post. “ohh we love her so much. She’s a real lady.”

The couple adopted the 6-year-old pit bull mix from a rescue organization after she had been in their care for 400 days. The shelter announced the puppy’s adoption in its own Instagram post, writing that Greenfield and Sanchez told them Darlene was a “million dollar dog” and that they “knew she was the one the first day we brought her home.”
