The This is us actor quietly tied the knot with girlfriend Jarah Mariano earlier this year, a rep confirmed to PEOPLE. Us Weekly first reported the news, noting that the couple officially exchanged vows earlier this year in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends.

The duo first sparked dating rumors in 2022, but have since kept their relationship out of the limelight.

Ventimiglia has been notoriously private about his relationships, telling PEOPLE in 2017 that he prefers to remain personally “invisible” so people can focus on his work.

“I try to minimize myself so that people can see the character and really immerse themselves in the work,” he explained. “I try to stay anonymous and invisible as much as I can so it doesn’t take away from the experience of the men I play. I don’t know how much more interesting my life is than anyone else’s.”

Mariano was born in Kauai, Hawaii, but later moved to California with her family. In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May 2021, Mariano spoke openly about her heritage on her Facebook page, noting that her mother is “of Korean descent but born and raised in Hawaii,” while her father is from Hawaii and “ his mother was born Hawaiian.”

After growing up in California, she wrote, she moved to New York City as a teenager and “lived there for 15 years.” She added in her post: “So again, ask me where I’m from or what I am .. maybe next time I’ll just say human on planet earth! All in all, I am proud of my heritage and all of its unique contributions.”

She graduated from Pace University

After moving to NYC, Mariano attended Pace University, where she eventually earned a degree in speech communications with a focus in media studies, according to her IMDb page.

Fans were first tipped off about Ventimiglia’s romance with Mariano in 2022 after Instagram account Deuxmoi first revealed they were an item. In response to a follower’s question about who Ventimiglia is dating, Deuxmoi responded on their Instagram Story by sharing a photo of Ventimiglia and Mariano together.

In the picture, which was first posted by @johannacyn, the couple in bathing suits appear to open a bottle of champagne together, smiling at each other. “welcome to the hood @jaharm + mi,” the caption read, suggesting the two had moved into a new neighborhood.

The couple later fueled rumors of an October 2023 wedding after Ventimiglia was seen wearing a wedding ring on his ring finger in photos obtained by TMZ.

According to Us Weekly, Ventimiglia and Mariano tied the knot earlier in 2023 during a private wedding ceremony surrounded by family and close friends. In photos obtained by the publication, the couple wore matching white outfits and leis.
