Naomi Scott and Jordan Spence are the textbook definition of high school sweethearts.

The couple first met at their church in the United Kingdom when Scott was 16. Although she was wary at first because he seemed shy, he also “intrigued” her.

The Anatomy of a Scandal the star opened towards Teen Vogue about her first date with Spence, which was going to the movies. “We actually went to see Iron Man 2“, Scott revealed during a 2019 interview in which she shared a list of her firsts. “I don’t remember anything about the movie, which tells you it was a good match.”

She elaborated on the podcast Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware that they also went to a local Italian restaurant, and she was “so nervous” that she couldn’t eat. Their low-key demeanor didn’t last long though and the couple dated for four years before tying the knot in 2014.

More than a decade later, Scott and Spence continue to support each other through different chapters of their lives. He shared a sweet tribute to his wife on Instagram in March 2022, posting a photo of Scott from the 2022 Oscars.

“Still more than happy to clean the kitchen and carry your bags 👸,” the former footballer wrote in the description.

He played professional football

Spence was a talented football player, he started his career in the youth team of West Ham United, the first division. Later in his career, from 2017 to 2019, he played for Ipswich Town. The following year, shortly before his retirement, he briefly joined ADO Den Haag, a Dutch football club.

A football career has its ups and downs, as Scott explained The Telegraph 2019. “My husband was abused on the field, even at home [playing at his team’s soccer ground],” the Charlie’s Angels said the star. “They threw him on the field with something.”

Scott isn’t afraid to support his sweetheart either. In April 2022, she told Jimmy Kimmel that she almost got into a fight at one of Spence’s football games when someone started criticizing her husband’s performance.

“Keep in mind that these are fans of the team that my husband supports [was] playing for. This drunk guy just crashed into him,” she said. “I just stood up and I said, ‘Shut up,’ but of course it was also a moment where everyone was just, like, sitting back and chilling.”

Scott then revealed that she was kicked out of the match afterwards and had no regrets. “He was heading towards my hubs, what am I going to do?”

Spence loves to read, something Scott explained might come as a surprise.

“He’s a football player so people don’t expect it … but he’s an avid reader,” Scott said The Telegraph in 2019

The Power Rangers the star also shared that when the couple had a quiet night in, they would watch British TV shows and Spence would cook them a meal.

The couple tied the knot after four years of dating in June 2014. The Aladdin the star was 21 when she became a wife – something she said was not her plan.

“I was never that person who wanted to get married young. It was never what I craved, but isn’t that the way?” she said The Telegraph in 2019

A caring husband often shows support for his wife at events and premieres. AladdinThe world premiere was held at Disney’s El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles in May 2019, with Spence attending alongside Scott.

The pair walked the red carpet together – which was actually a dark purple shade in honor of the film. Scott wore a loose pink floor-length dress, while Spence opted for a blue suit and tie.

He and Scott directed the music video together

In the fall of 2019, Scott stepped behind the camera for the first time alongside her husband to direct the music video for Nick Brewer’s “Forget You.”

Scott said it was a learning experience for her and Spence, whose “motto was to say ‘I don’t know’ ” when they needed directions on set. However, the pair worked well together and enjoyed sharing their concepts.

“We’re constantly bouncing ideas off each other: for scripts, for visuals, for music,” Scott said British Vogue her and Spence’s employment relationship.

He added: “This kind of mutual cooperation is just part of our everyday life. Plus, for us, this kind of creative work is really personal – and that’s ultimately what’s so great about it.”

Scott wants to grow with Spence

Scott said British Vogue that one of her ambitions is to be in a “power couple” with Spence, while remaining down-to-earth.

“[My faith is the foundation] about every decision I make and about my marriage,” she said. “We are young people with big aspirations – I want to be a power couple,”

Scott continued, “I want to make all the money and have a big house. But sometimes Jordan and I say, ‘OK, if I never act in a movie again, if he never steps on a football field, would our world fall apart?’ ”

He and Scott are fans of the Golden State Warriors

During the performance at Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2022. 33 The alum revealed that she and Spence are big fans of the Golden State Warriors — San Francisco’s NBA team.

“I do not know [how we became fans]”, she explained. “I think Jordan, my husband, saw Steph Curry years ago, what an inspiration … and he kind of got me into it, and now I’m totally into it.”

The couple even attended the opening of the 2021-2022 season. and saw the Los Angeles Lakers play against his favorite team. Scott added, “We got to sit courtside, and we were literally two seats away from LeBron James.”
