The wedding was canceled at the last minute.
After two years of dating, the couple was about to exchange a wedding ring when Usher canceled the engagement an hour before the scheduled time because he was not ready to commit. However, a month later, on August 3, the wedding was adjourned for a small civil ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, he said he was willing to make this commitment because he wanted to take responsibility and did not want to be like the father who abandoned him when he was 7 years old. The couple held a grand wedding ceremony on September 1 at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort outside of Atlanta.

Found a new business partner
His father has acquired a new business partner for him. Rumors of his relationship with Jennifer Goicoechea began circulating in the fall of 2019. She is the senior director of artist and repertoire at Epic Records. They were first seen together at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2019. Jennifer Johnson, a photographer, captured and shared a photo of them kissing backstage. However, they did not confirm their relationship.
