Otis Myles Jr was born on October 30, 1941 in Texarkana, Texas to parents Otis Myles and Hazel Louise Williams. His parents divorced shortly after his birth, and when he was young, his mother remarried. She moved to Michigan, leaving Williams in the care of his grandparents.
