Who Is Rebecca Loos? What to Know About David Beckham’s Former Assistant

Rebecca Loos worked closely with David Beckham more than two decades ago.

The former Dutch model was the soccer star’s personal assistant in 2003 before moving on to a career as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. She first rose to fame when she said the two had an affair while Beckham was married to his wife Victoria Beckham – which he denied in a statement to Guardcalling her claims “ridiculous.”

After the accusations, Loos made several appearances on reality TV. Since 2009, she has largely lived out of the spotlight, devoting her social media accounts to posts about her family and career.

In 2009, Loos announced that she was expecting a child with her then-boyfriend, Sven Christjar Skaia. After having their son, she and Skaiaa got married and welcomed their second child in 2012. She often posts pictures of her children and husband, as well as their two dogs, on her Instagram.

She was a model

Although Rebecca was born in Madrid, Spain, growing up she spoke English, Norwegian, Spanish, Dutch and French. Her father is Dutch and Swiss, and her mother is English and Spanish, according to her website. She also has Dutch citizenship.

Before working as a personal assistant, Loos did several commercial modeling jobs.

In July 2003, Beckham moved to Real Madrid from Manchester United. The athlete was married to Victoria for five years and by then had two children: 5-year-old Brooklyn and almost 2-year-old Romeo.

Loos started working for Beckham shortly after he moved to Madrid, but was terminated after a few months.

She claimed that she and Beckham had an affair

After her dismissal, Loos gave an interview to a British tabloid News from the world in April 2004, claiming the two had a four-month affair. Beckham denied the claims in a statement to Guardcalling them “ridiculous”, however, he took no legal action against the story or the newspaper.

“Over the past few months, I’ve gotten used to reading more and more absurd stories about my private life,” he said. “What happened this morning is just another example.”

“The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special children,” he continued. “There’s nothing a third party can do to change that.”

Almost a decade later, in 2013, Loos said in an interview with Dawn that she regretted the way she shared her story — even though she didn’t step back from telling it.

“I think maybe I could have done it in a softer way,” she said. “I don’t regret speaking out, but I do regret the way I did it.”

Loos also added that she was “reckless” when she spoke out about the alleged affair.

“Obviously now I’m a mother and I’m married alone and I’ve been in the media for six or seven years, so if I knew what I know now, I would certainly have handled things very differently,” she told the newspaper.

She continued: “I think I was quite young and stupid and very reckless, and obviously I didn’t think things through, I just acted impulsively. And I like to think I’m a lot less like that now, hopefully.”

She is Piers Morgan’s second cousin

Journalist Piers Morgan, who worked for rival British tabloids The Daily Mirror at the time, he said he discovered Loos was his second cousin after news broke of her alleged affair with Beckham. He joked that he only found out two days after the scandal hit the papers – and that he even “supposedly danced with her at a family wedding in Madrid”, he told The Independent.

“Nevertheless, she refused to change camps from News from the world and give Mirror her story,” he told that newspaper in an interview in 2005. “It really makes sense when your own family is blowing their kisses to a rival newspaper.”

She appeared on reality TV

Following the media attention, Loos ventured into reality TV, starting with an appearance on a Dutch show in 2004. Shownieuws. Then she continued acting Farm, Island of celebrity love and Powerful lesbian UKthe latter for which she was part of a staged wedding to an American model.

She continued her reality TV run in 2006 when she appeared on The X Factor: Star Wars and in 2007 she competed in the Spanish version Survived, where she was third. However, in 2009, she stopped working in the reality sphere.

She is the mother of two children

In 2009, Loos became pregnant with her first child, Magnus, with her then-boyfriend Sven Christjar Skaia. She announced her pregnancy for the first time in a Spanish program This is Pasando.

“I wasn’t planning on having a child,” she said on the show. “It was an accident. But the child will be very welcome and loved.”

About her partner, she added that he is “not famous”, but that he is a Norwegian doctor and that they met after a summer in his home country.

“We are both thrilled with the pregnancy,” she added. “He was not a lover, he is my boyfriend and I hope to spend the rest of my life with him.”

After five months of pregnancy, Loos moved to Norway to raise her son with Sven.

“Sven is a man who loves nature and mountains and was not ready to move to London – so I moved to Norway so that we could raise our son together,” she told Sun 2018 “I thought to myself, I can always go back to London if it doesn’t work out in Norway. That was 10 years ago.”

She had another child, Liama, in 2012, and married her husband the same year. Today, Loos often posts photos of his family enjoying quality time together. In July 2023, they traveled together to Sicily where they enjoyed “delicious food” and “stunning scenery,” she wrote on her Instagram.

“Summer vibes in Sicily with my family! It’s our first time in Sicily and I’m already in love! 😍”, she wrote in the description of her post. “Exploring this beautiful island with my family, I feel so blessed and grateful!”

She also enjoys the outdoors with her sons, preferring to raise them in the wilds of Norway rather than the cities where she lived in her 20s.

“We want to raise our children surrounded by nature – playing outdoors as much as possible, skiing, hiking, biking, learning about nature and most importantly – loving and respecting it,” Loos said. Sun. – Without that, we would be nothing.

Now she works as a yoga teacher and massage therapist

After her involvement in the reality show, Loos changed careers and is now a certified yoga and meditation teacher. On her website, Loos explained that she always loved practicing yoga, but decided to become a teacher after welcoming her son in 2012.

“After her second child in 2012, she dove deeper into yoga developing a regular Ashtanga practice and discovering all the many hidden layers of yoga,” her website bio reads. “With each workout, Rebecca felt like she was returning to her roots, to her true self.”

Eventually, she opened a yoga studio and incorporated the practice into her daily life.

“I get up at 5am every day to practice yoga for two hours before I take the kids to school and go to work at my small yoga studio in the center of the village where I normally teach for two hours,” she told Sun.

Although Loos sold the studio in 2022, she continues to practice yoga and is now an independent teacher, often working on the practice.

She responded to comments on social networks after the premiere Beckham

In October 2023, Beckham’s documentary follows his personal life and career, Beckham, premiered on Netflix. In the series, the football star touched on a difficult period in his and Victoria’s marriage.

Victoria called the time Beckham moved to Real Madrid “the most unlucky of my life”, adding that the period in the tabloid media made it “the most difficult time for us”.

“It felt like the world was against us,” she said in the documentary. “And here’s the thing – we were against each other, to be completely honest.”

“There were some horrible stories that were hard to deal with,” David added about that time. “It was the first time that me and Victoria had been under such pressure in our marriage. Every time we woke up we felt that there was something else. I think we both felt then that we had, not lost each other, but drowning.’

Despite neither Victoria nor Beckham naming Loos, people began leaving comments on her Instagram posts re-surfacing her alleged affair with the athlete. One user noted the “disgusting” comments on one of her posts, telling her to “stay strong”, to which she responded by thanking them.

“I accept ugly comments with as much humor as I can ❤️,” she wrote.
