When Sean Biggerstaff was seven, he enrolled in a local theater class. Biggerstaff’s first professional acting role was as MacDuff’s son in Michael Boyd’s production of Macbeth at Glasgow’s Tron Theater when he was eleven. Biggerstaff had his first major TV job when he was 13, playing young Darren in the BBC production of The Crow Road.
He was cast as Tom, a cheeky schoolboy, in Alan Rickman’s new film, The Winter Guest, when he was 14 years old. Rickman then became his mentor until Rickman passed away.
On 18 November 2007, Biggerstaff was nominated for Best Actor for Television by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Scotland (BAFTA Scotland) for his portrayal of Jeremy Wolfenden in the BBC4 TV film Consenting Adults, which he won. Biggerstaff was last seen as Mikey in the 2018 film Super November.
