Grandfather of Sizwe Dhlom
Isaac Dhlomo, a native of KwaZulu-Natal, was the grandfather of Sizwe Dhlomo. During the apartheid era, he was a wealthy farmer who bought a property in KwaZulu-Natal. Among the four prominent activities of the economy are animal husbandry, farming, forestry and horse breeding. Sizwe’s grandfather came from a very poor family though famous for his rich agribusiness. After the death of his father, Isaac Dhlomo had to drop out of school in 4th grade and start working to support his mother and younger siblings. He eventually started farming and was quite successful with it. Furthermore, Isaac Dhlomo is said to be a strong supporter of the African National Congress (ANC).
It is alleged that he helped Anton Lembede, the first president of the ANC Youth League, become a partner at the law firm Pixley ka Seme. In 1946, the first ANCYL chairman was appointed as a legal partner by his grandfather Sizwe Dhlom, who at that time lent Lambede nearly Rs 100,000. Furthermore, Isaac Dhlomo was friends with apartheid resistance hero Olivier Tambo and the late Zambian President Kenneth Kaunda. After Kaunda passed away in 2021, the media personality paid tribute to him by posting a photo of him and Tambo taken by his grandfather.

Sizwe Dhlomo has been appointed as the next host of Kaya FM’s afternoon drive show in June 2020 and his career continues to advance.
