CINDY Beale was brutally attacked and left for dead in a dramatic EastEnders Christmas cliffhanger.
The troubled cheater – played by actress Michelle Collins in the BBC soap – found herself hit over the head with a shovel after her affair with Junior Knight was exposed in the dramatic episode and she lost everything.

She was then brutally attacked and left for dead in snow-covered Albert Square
In the Queen Vic tape where Cindy admits that all the music ruined the festivities, Cindy was humiliated.
Elaine Knight told her, “You’re toxic Cindy. Poisonous from top to bottom. Someone should deal with you permanently, put you down.”
“And you’ll be the one to do it, won’t you?” Cindy asked.
“I’ll just join the line, dear,” Elaine joked, making Cindy furious with her family.
She teased them all, saying: “So it’s all on me, isn’t it? George lit up so you say, Junior takes me to bed and won’t take no for an answer, but it’s all my fault.
“You guys, I’m sick of you. Look at you all, look at your faces. The butter wouldn’t melt.”
Turning to Elaine, she said, “You and your stupid mind games, keeping some guy too good for you. Holding on with my withered hand.”
“You too,” she told Junior. “Daddy’s problems, and you used me to solve them. How sick, how twisted is that?”
Then it was Lauren’s turn as Cindy raged, “And you, you alcoholic. A messed up daughter from a messed up family, she’s lying to Peter, and he’s too stupid to see it.”
Aiming at her daughters Gina and Anna, she said: “And you two are whining about mom going to France. Poor you two.

“I’ve experienced it with many of you. I’m not a bad bitch. I am a woman, wife and mother trying to find my way and getting lost again, again and again. And I don’t care if I never see any of you again. The only person I care about is Ian and I will get him back.”
Rushing out, Cindy left and left the others to turn on Lauren for causing all of this, leaving her alone to hold the bag of pills.
At the Beales’, Cindy warned Kathy that she would rip her throat out if she tried to stop her from getting to Ian.
Upstairs, Cindy tried to coax Ian – but he wasn’t having any of it.
He told her, “I don’t want you around me. You destroyed me.”
Walking away from her, he packed her bags and threw her out on the street, telling her she didn’t deserve to live.
EastEnders pulled off a Christmas cracker
The Sun’s Soaps editor Carl Greenwood gives his verdict on the explosive Christmas drama
EASTENDERS have done it again and pulled a Christmas cracker out of the hat – if you’ll pardon the mixed metaphors.
I’ll be honest – the Cindy and Junior affair left me completely cold.
There were a few good moments, but for the most part it was a bit weird more than anything else.
Cindy is at her best when she’s the villain—and they’ve barely scratched the surface of her ability to put herself first above everything else.
The muscle who endearingly wanted the love of her daughters (justice for Cindy jr please – although at least Gina has a spark of Cindy in her) was perfect.
But tonight she was back at her best and Michelle Collins finally got to shine.
To direct his anger at his family and call them all out for their nonsense and hypocrisy was sublime.
And the consequence – destroying every relationship in Vic was so good.
The episode did a great job with Christmas cheer turning into Christmas chaos.
The suspects were perfectly cast and the shovel – hinted at in the Christmas teaser image if you look closely enough – was the star of the show.
And the thing about whodunnits is consequence — and let’s face it, it’s going to take more than a snow shovel to kill Cindy Beale.
The drama is just beginning and everyone should be very afraid of Hurricane Cindy.
Cindy flew into the snow as Ian kicked her out, leaving her banging on the door.
“You can’t get rid of me, I’ll be back, I’ll be back,” she screamed, but no one paid any attention to her.
Wrapping herself up, Cindy went to the tube, only to find it closed and returned to the Square to hail a taxi to take her to Kings Cross.
But as she waited alone in the cold and snow, it turned out that she was not alone.
A mysterious person picked up a snow shovel in front of Viv and brutally attacked Cindy, leaving her dead in the snow under the Christmas tree.
But who did it? Let’s look at the suspects…
Anna Knight

Shall we rule out Anna now?
The woman barely has enough about her to kill a fly, so chances are she’ll finally be worthy of being Cindy Beale’s daughter and hit her over the head with a shovel.
But she was looking out the window of the Queen Vic so she might know who attacked her mother.
Gina Knight

Fiery drug addict Gina who is recovering from drug addiction is a good opportunity to shovel for her mother this Christmas.
He has the boxing skills of George and the temper of Cindy – so he definitely has the ability and will to take down his mother.
And she was seen sneaking out of the Vic right before Cindy was attacked.
Peter Beale

This Peter is a bit of a drip – he’s more Anna than Gina, so to speak.
It’s hard to imagine him picking up a shovel without his mom’s approval.
But after saying he was seen drowning his sorrows in tears shortly before the attack, so maybe he finally hugged his mum?
Lauren Branning

Never before has a character managed to learn from their past mistakes more than Lauren.
Except for Cindy who is apparently doomed to repeat the cycle of affairs until the day she dies.
But Lauren’s knack for ruining Christmas is second to none – and has sparked explosive drama.
She’s left with a bag of pills in a car park after losing her relationship, her family and her son – and it’s all Cindy’s fault.
Could Lauren be responsible?
Ian Beale

For a man whose Christmases included the time his wife nearly killed him with a killer carbonara, you’d think he’d have a pretty low threshold for bad days, but this was something else.
Publicly humiliated by a video of Cindy saying that he can’t please her so much that he sleeps with his ex-stepson, Ian didn’t have a Merry Christmas.
He spilled the drink and then punched Junior, before kicking Cindy and throwing her out into the street.
Last seen smashing into his own living room and charging into the Square, he must have been in the mood to kill Cindy.
But could he? Really?
Kathy Beale

There’s been no love lost between Kathy and Cindy since they both came back from the dead, and the real fight is about to end.
But after everything that happened last Christmas, would Kathy really want to go through that again?
It’s a miracle she made it back to Vic.
Elaine Peacock

Landlady Queen Vic’s intention to get rid of Cindy once and for all backfired spectacularly.
She started Christmas convinced she’d be rid of Cindy for good – but ended it alone.
Hearing George rage about Junior taking what was his pushed her over the edge and she kicked George out.
But did that push her enough to grab a shovel and try to kill Cindy?
George Knight

Cindy cost him everything.
Now homeless, jobless and sonless after Cindy’s affair is exposed, he is capable of explosive rage as a former professional boxer.
He was seen practicing his emotions on a punching bag, but maybe it didn’t work and maybe he needed Cindy to pay for what she did?

A rejected lover, an unwanted son, a humiliated man… things are not looking good for Junior.
He fell for Cindy, hook, line and sinker, and worse, he fell for her lies.
Last seen trying to call Cindy after everything went downhill – did he want to find her to kill or seduce her again?
