After the actress claimed on air that the bakery turned her down because of her politics and used technical difficulties as an excuse, Holtermann’s Bakery owner Jill Holtermann denied it to EW that “it’s not because of political” commitments, but because “we had problems with our boilers”.
Holtermann said that View The co-host initially requested treats for her Nov. 6 talk show appearance as well as her birthday broadcast, both of which the baker refused to do because she “didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t fulfill.”
“I told Whoopi, ‘I can’t do it now,'” she told the outlet. “We’ve got so many things going on with my water heater, ’cause it’s a 1930’s building, so when she called me, I had no idea [if we could] bake everything.”

She also said EW that she was unaware of who the woman was, or that she had anything to do with Goldberg or View.
PEOPLE turned to Holtermann’s bakery and View for further comment, but none immediately heard back.
