Why Call Her Daddy's Alex Cooper Doesn't Wash Her Face — Like Ever

Alex Cooper has a secret to her skin care routine — she skips a step that many experts consider crucial.

Talking to Vogue on Wednesday, June 26 Call her dad presenter, 29, showed off her simple make-up and skin routine – and even recreated the look she wore on her wedding day in April.

According to the podcaster, her skincare routine excludes the one thing many people would consider the first step: washing your face.

“I have something honest to share with you right now. I don’t wash my face,” she revealed in the video. “No, please don’t judge me. I just realized early on, when I was breaking out a lot, that my skin was super oily and confused and I really struggled with skincare and when I stopped washing my face, I suddenly stopped having pimples.”

Cooper told the magazine that for most of her adult life, she never maintained a single skincare routine and struggled with knowing which products were right for her.

“I would say it was about two years ago that I really started taking care of my skin and I know it’s crazy because I’m 29,” she added. “But I didn’t really know the answers, and there’s so much information on the internet, so I just started looking into it and trying different things.

After two short years of trying different moisturizers, toners, and more, Cooper noticed that some of her favorite products include Advanced Snail Mucin, EltaMD Moisturizer with SPF, and Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lipstick.

“Now I feel like I’ve figured out my place and I know it’s the right fit for me,” Cooper said.

Just a few months ago, the 29-year-old tied the knot with Hollywood producer Matt Kaplan in a wedding ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico, which she previously described as “relaxed and authentic” but also informal – and the makeup she showed off for Vogue it was appropriate for a natural theme.

Recreating the look she wore for her wedding in April, Cooper started with Laura Mercier’s Pure Canvas Primer and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation — to achieve the “Hailey Bieber donut” look.

“Something that was really important to me on my wedding day was making sure I looked like me,” Cooper told the magazine, before sculpting her face with Makeup by Mario Contour Stick and lightly applying more foundation.

“If I’m being honest, I used to be really, really insecure about my freckles and I would apply foundation to the point where people would say, ‘I didn’t even know you had freckles,'” Cooper said. “Now I think it’s nice to just lean into your skincare and just be like, I was born this way. Let’s lean back.”

Completing her wedding look with Nudesticks cream blush, liquid eyeshadow, Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter and brow gel, as well as Glossier mascara, Cooper joked that her look made her flash back to her wedding day.

“I feel like I could get married now,” she joked. “Matt, let’s do it again.”
