Why does sex education end after the fourth season?

All good things must come to an end, and for creator Laurie Nunn, the series simply ran its course, a decision made in the writers’ room. Back in July, the series’ official Instagram account released a statement, with Laurie explaining, “We’ve decided that season four will also be the final installment of our series.

“This was not an easy decision to make, but as the themes and stories of the new season crystallized, it became clear that this was the right time to graduate.

She added: “We’re incredibly proud of Sex Education and owe it to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making each episode. They’ve worked tirelessly to bring you this final season, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

WITH Sexual education following the students of Moordale High School and later Cavendish Sixth Form College, it’s not surprising that the writers would want to end the series before each of the characters go their separate ways. Meanwhile, Emma Mackey, who plays Maeve in the Netflix drama, has also revealed that she has “said goodbye” to her character after season four.
