Why Love Is Blind’s Trevor Thinks the Timing of His Pod Date Could’ve Changed His Outcome on the Show (Exclusive)

Trevor Sova believes in his own Love is blind the trip could have turned out differently if one major factor worked in his favor.

During the sixth season of the Netflix hit series, Trevor formed a strong bond with Chelsea Blackwell inside the pods. She eventually became his number one, but the same could not be said for Chelsea, who found herself torn between Trevor and Jimmy Presnell.

In the end, both men were ready to propose to the 31-year-old flight attendant and event organizer — conveniently, on the same day. But as fate would have it, Chelsea’s date with Jimmy, 28, was her first, so she eventually accepted his proposal and ended up with Trevor not long after.

Now Trevor, 31, is opening up to PEOPLE and admitting he thinks the outcome might have been different if his date with Chelsea had come first.

“I did, because I think the way it’s set up, you think the most about who’s freshest to you from the day before,” he explains. “So she just had a date night with Jimmy about five and a half the night before. And then Jimmy saw her first thing in the morning, and that’s when he proposed, and later it was me.”

“So I think it could have gone either way if you changed it,” he notes. – I am not saying with certainty, but there is a possibility.

Recalling the day Chelsea broke up with him, Trevor says he had “no clue” that she was going to end things.

“I go in there pretty confident. I don’t know, I’ve never connected with a girl like I did with her, so I was amazed that she felt she had a better connection with someone else,” Trevor admits. “When I walked in, and I don’t remember exactly what I said, but obviously I was excited to see her, and she said, ‘Hey.’

Based on Chelsea’s tone of voice, Trevor recalls thinking, “I thought, ‘Oh, they just proposed to her, didn’t they?’ And she said yes. I knew exactly what the situation was and it shocked me. But I’m very proud of myself for how I handled that situation.”

While he’s proud of the way he handled their breakup, and “would have done 99 percent of things the same way,” Trevor admits there’s one thing he wishes he’d done differently Love is blind.

“I would probably share a little less information [with the guys] and kind of play the game more,” he says. “I didn’t think of it as a game. I was like, ‘Oh, this is my person I want.’ And not necessarily that it’s a competition between people… because they could use it to their advantage.”

Chelsea is now engaged to Jimmy and the two of them traveled to Punta Cana for a romantic getaway with the other couples. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the pair, who clashed after Jimmy commented on AD’s fit physique at a group mixer, and Chelsea took offense to it.

“I was so embarrassed, and the fact that you didn’t read the room made me really, really sad,” Chelsea said during the sixth episode before breaking down in tears. “I didn’t feel like you loved me. I was sitting there alone after you commented on how great her body was… you made me feel uncomfortable.”

Things between the two ended on a strained note and fans will have to wait until the next series of episodes to find out if Chelsea and Jimmy can come to terms or if the feud is too much to overcome.
