Will Ferrell Claps His Hands to ‘Eye of the Tiger’ as He DJs USC Tailgate Party During Family Weekend

Will Ferrell took family weekend at his alma mater to the next level.

On Saturday, the actor and comedian, 56, DJed at the University of Southern California’s Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity’s foreign party ahead of the Trojan Family Weekend football game against the University of Arizona Wildcats.

In a TikTok video, the USC student could be seen clapping along with students to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” while manning the DJ booth. Ferrell was certainly dressed for the occasion, with headphones worn atop a twisted USC red cap.

The Barbie the actor has been an active student at USC since graduating from the school of sports information in 1990. He gave the commencement speech to the graduating class in 2017 and helped fund the first full scholarship for the women’s soccer team with his wife Viveca Paulin in 2018.

And it seems Trojan blood runs in the family, as Ferrell and Paulina’s oldest child, son Magnus, 19, is currently enrolled at USC as a sophomore, according to his LinkedIn page.

Together with Magnus, Saturday night live alum also shares sons Mattias, 16, and Axel, 13, with Paulin, 54.

Back in 2008, Leader star shared her biggest piece of advice for any parent. “For me, talk to your kids, at least once a week,” he hilariously told PEOPLE at the time.

“If you have the time, do it two or three times a week, but otherwise, I find the times where I let weeks and weeks go by without talking to my kids, it adds up,” he joked.

In 2017, Ferrell also opened up about what it was like raising three boys, telling PEOPLE, “It’s usually loud in the house. Whether they’re having a good time or going crazy, they’re always yelling.”

Although Magnus is building a career in the music industry, Ferrell revealed in a 2018 interview. Parade that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to his affinity for comedy.

“Last year, for his yearbook photo, he borrowed glasses from another kid. He doesn’t wear glasses. Here he is with this very serious look with glasses,” Ferrell said of Magnus’ prank.

He recalled: “’Like ‘Magnus,’ it’s so subversive and funny. Totally my sense of humor.’ He says, ‘Am I in trouble?’ Like, ‘No, you have to do it every year! Fantastic!'”
