About them
“They” is an American black horror anthology series by Little Marvin and Lena Waithe. Some of the actors in the series include Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, Alison Pill and Ryan Kwanten. The first season was released on April 9, 2021, and the second on April 25, 2024.
People had mixed feelings about the first season. Some people liked how it was done, but some thought it was too scary and not pretty. However, many people liked the text, the way it was made and the acting. The series is called an anthology because each season tells a different story.
The first season is about a black family that moves into a neighborhood where everyone else is white. The second season is about a detective trying to solve a really gruesome murder. Although people are not sure if there will be a third season, they think it could be about something else again.
The show talks about terrible things, but also about how people treat each other unfairly because of the color of their skin.
The Plot
In the first season of “Them”, set in the 1950s, a black family moves from North Carolina to Los Angeles. They hope for a better life, but the neighborhood they move to is completely white and they face terrible racism. Strange and terrible things begin to happen in their new home and they realize that something evil is haunting them.
The family must also fight against the horrors of racism and the supernatural forces that threaten their lives. In the second season, set in 1991, a black female detective named Dawn Reeve is assigned to a gruesome murder case. He faces racism and struggles to find the killer while dealing with his personal demons.
As she gets closer to the truth, she discovers something sinister lurking in the shadows, threatening not only her life but her sanity. The series explores themes of racism, discrimination and the struggle for survival in the face of human and supernatural threats.
