Moore attended Heritage Middle School and High School and played baseball. He played many positions, including catcher and pitcher. Wilson graduated from Heritage High last year and has yet to confirm his commitment to another baseball club. On Sunday evening, the Heritage High Husky Baseball team announced his death on their Facebook page.
Wilson has a GoFundMe page, and his family has not spoken about his death. His GoFundMe page mentions concerns about recreational drug use.

The death of Wilson Moore shocked people close to the baseball star. Moore, a student at Heritage High, died in his sleep early Saturday morning. Wilson, 18, played mostly catcher but was also a right-handed pitcher. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the Moore family with Wilson’s funeral and memorial costs. The $25,000 goal has been met with $15,000 so far.
The GoFundMe website indicated that the cause of death is still under investigation, though accidental chemical poisoning is suspected. The GoFundMe campaign also encourages readers to educate their children and friends about the dangers of recreational drug use, including the potential for death. A Facebook user whose child happened to be Wilson’s friend made a similar post. User Nicole Bennet Weeks advised readers to talk to their children about recreational drug use. The baseball team at Heritage High School released a tribute to Wilson.
The statement read: “Our hearts are saddened as we reflect on the passing of Wilson Moore, a valued member of our Husky Baseball family. He was more than just a player; he was a friend, a bright example and a great teammate with an infectious personality. His legacy will be recognized both in our program and on the field. Get some rest, Wilson. Your Husky family adores you and will miss you.”

Wilson’s family has not released a comment on his death. He was the only child of Betsy Ballard Moore. His mother Betsy posted several photos of herself with her child on Facebook. Kristina Currie Liljestrand has published her GoFundMe page. Wilson and Kristina’s son, Talan, were great friends. She posted a GoFundMe page on both Facebook and Instagram.
She captioned the picture: “Unfortunately, we lost a precious soul this weekend. Wilson Moore, one of Talan’s dearest friends, has died. If you could give or leave a nice message for Wilson’s family, it would be greatly appreciated.”
Wilson graduated from Heritage High School last year and was a member of the class of 2023. It is not clear if he was looking forward to continuing his baseball career or trying his hand at a new sector. Wilson posted on Facebook that he works as Rodman for GSC Surveying.
