Woman, 33, arrested for Christmas Day ‘murder’ after man in his 30s found dead at home

A 33-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 30s was found dead at a home on Christmas Day.

Police were called at around 3.25am today to Elm Road in Norton Canes, Staffordshire, after reports that a man in his thirties was in cardiac arrest.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene, the man died a short time later, Staffordshire Police said.

His next of kin have been informed and are now being assisted by specially trained officers.

A 33-year-old woman from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

She remains in police custody, Staffordshire Police said.

The investigation is expected to last several days.

An autopsy is scheduled for Boxing Day morning.

Staffordshire Police say local residents will see an increased presence of neighborhood officers in the area.

Police urged anyone with information to come forward.

Officers said they would provide security and help gather evidence.
