Woman and man found dead at home in quiet Devon village as cops launch urgent probe

TWO people have been found dead on a property in a quiet rural village.

Police made the horrific discovery on Monday after being called to an address near Plymouth, Devon, following concerns for welfare.

When officers arrived at the Battisborough Cross home shortly after 5:30 p.m., they found a man and a woman dead

Their next of kin have been informed.

Witnesses told DevonLive that fire engines, police vehicles and ambulances were at the scene following the discovery.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were alerted at around 5.30pm yesterday to reports of concern for the welfare of two people at a property in Battisborough Cross.

“When the police arrived at the property, a dead man and woman were found, and their next of kin were informed.

“The death is believed to be non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
