Woman says her partner accused her of wasting water after a 26-minute shower — and her statement about the accusations is going viral
The woman, who says she and her partner live together, detailed their argument in a post on the ReAmITheA—— subreddit.
The original poster (OP) describes herself as a “female with longer thick hair” who was in the middle of a “full body shower” which included “washing, conditioning hair, shaving, washing body, face”, said her partner “lost the crap out of of how long I was in the shower.”

“My partner said they ran the sink the whole time I was in the shower and asked if I noticed how much water was used then,” the woman recalled. “I asked how I could hear that running while I was in the shower.” To which her partner replied, “Exactly.”
She calculated the shower time based on the length of her playlist, which she says totaled 26 minutes.

“For this long, I shower once every 3-4 days,” she explained. “I don’t shower every day (because I work from home), but if I do – I have less than 10 minutes with a washed body and shampooed hair for a regular wash.”
After readers were asked if she was an “a-hole” for taking 26 minutes to take a “full-body” shower, many people had their say in the comments section.
“NTA [Not the a——]. He thinks you’re an AH for wasting water, but he’s been holding water the whole time? Worst. Water. Police work. Ever,” one person shared.

Another wrote: “NTA. I have never timed my partner’s personal hygiene. I have also never flushed the sink or flushed the toilet while my partner was in the shower. I may be wrong but responsible, mature adults don’t do that to each other .”

Many also questioned their relationship, with another writing: “NTA. If you have long hair, it’s not long. But the problem is not the length of your shower. Your partner is not your owner and you are not his slave. You are equal partners. You decide how long you need to shower.”
