Wisconsin woman takes legal procedures after learning that feeding tube was allegedly left inside her body during surgery almost 35 years ago.
In 1989, Deborah Lowe was pregnant with twins when she was undergoing an emergency cross section at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee. During the delivery, she suffered “heavy complications”, resulting in the death of the Gemini and demanded that she undergo total hysterectomy at the age of 25.
Lowe was then placed on life support for two months, during which a feeding pipe was inserted, according to the court documents received by humans.
“I had pipes everywhere,” Fox6 recalled. “Feeding pipes, all on me.”
After being released from the hospital, Lowe, now 60 years old, began to experience “lasting abdominal pain”. Over the next three decades, she has seen more doctors and has undergone several procedures, but her pain has become undiagnosed.
“It was hard for me to do things. I like to practice. I like to walk. I couldn’t do it,” she said. “I had migraines, shortness of breath, and my stomach was constantly swelling.”

However, Lowe claims that during the colon process in April 2024, her surgeon reportedly revealed that the 1989 surgery pipe was still in it, “built into its abdominal cavity.” She left the news “in shock”.
“How could they do it,” Lowe said during a press conference. “Who could go wrong? This is too much, I should not go through this.”
“The feeding tube remained inside for 35 years … It’s my whole life,” she said, cracking in tears. “They took me all my life. I was only 25 and I couldn’t have more children. Now I still go through things. I can’t do the things I used to do.”
Lowe is now suing the Mount Sinai Medical Center – which is now the Aurora Sinai Medical Center – for the claim of medical carelessness, a violation of fiduciary duties and emotional trouble.
Court documents state that “the retained surgical tool for feeding was a probable cause of its decades of long abdominal pain and gastrointestinal issues. The presence of this foreign object also contributed to an extensive intra-abdominal adhesion, which required surgical intervention.”

B’ivory Lamarr – Lowe’s lawyer – filed a lawsuit on February 5, accusing the hospital for medical abuse and rough carelessness. He wants Lowe to “rightly make up for” and medical staff involved in order to be responsible, demanding a jury trial.
“Lowe’s suffering was completely prevented,” Lamarr said in a press release. “This case is a great example of a systemic failure in our health system. No patient should endure decades of pain due to a preventive mistake hidden in the eyes. ”
The Aurora Sinai Medical Center did not respond to the request of people to comment. The Hospital said in a Fox6 statement that “they were not legally informed of this lawsuit and I couldn’t comment on.”
During the press conference, Lamarr said this case was “” the most striking alleged negligence that I think I’ve ever seen before. ”
“I wish no one was going through,” Lowe added. “It’s scary when you don’t know what’s going on in you. You’re just trying to live day by day.”
