Chabelo was known for his comic ability.
Xavier was born on February 17, 1935 in the central Mexican city of Leon, and served in a military station in California. He then studied medicine in Mexico and worked as a doctor in a private practice, while also working as a part-time assistant in the offices of the Mexican network Televisa. He quickly started filling in for performers who couldn’t attend the shows and once told a joke on the radio about a kid named Chabelo. This resulted in the creation of a new figure, who was also the face of Pepsi in the 1950s. Xavier has appeared in a number of commercials over the years.
Xavier became famous after appearing in the game En Familia con Chabelo. It aired for around 45 years, including as Xavier, and the comedian earned a Guinness World Record for his 57-year performance in the character. Xavier appeared in several other films and produced programs such as La Escuelita VIP and Los Simuladores. According to the Mexican writer Laura Martinez, almost no one was familiar with Xavier’s writing. On Saturday afternoons, his videos were broadcast, and he was shown fighting various animals.
