Biography of Yngwie Malmsteen
Yngwie Malmsteen was born in the Swedish city of Stockholm in 1963. He is known for being the third child in a musical family. When he was ten years old, he founded his first band “Track on Earth”, which consisted of him and a schoolmate who played drums.
When he was twelve, he adopted his mother’s maiden name, Malmsten, as his surname, then changed it slightly to Malmsteen, and changed the third offered name, Yngve, to “Yngwie”.
