A VERY trippy optical illusion has left people scratching their heads as to whether a road is straight or curved.
Take a look at the two images below – it looks like the photos of the trucks are taken on the same street but from a totally different angle.

Well, that’s not the case. The Imgur caption reveals that this is actually the exact same photo, just placed side by side.
The two roads are parallel, even though it doesn’t look that way.
Mind blown.
Seriously though, what why is this optical illusion so hard to get our head around?

One reddit user commented: “For me it looks like the roads are going in different directions, like one road forking off. It’s hard to believe the two streets are actually parallel.”
With another user trying to give baffled people an explanation: “It’s because the two streets come together at the bottom of the pictures. Your brain tries to perceive this as one image with a fork in the road and therefore the street in the picture on the left must be at a different angle than the picture on the right.”
