Due to the difficulty in spotting an owl, this optical illusion puts even the sharpest eyes to the test.
Uploaded to Reddit, many users of the platform were left tearing their hair out after failing to spot the hidden stone eagle owl.
The image is a rocky and grassy background, with nothing else to draw the viewer’s attention.
Mounds of long grass-like straw are the only thing to be seen next to stones and rocks.
But somewhere inside lurks a hidden owl.
Spotting it at all is an achievement in itself, but doing it under five seconds would really be something to shout about.
Only the most careful will succeed, because it requires a lot of focus and patience.
However, if you look hard enough, you’ll find an owl almost smack dab in the center of the picture.
Hidden behind one of the grassy hills in the middle of the picture, to the right of the large gray rock, is an owl.
He can be seen staring straight into the camera as the picture is taken.
Some people with superior eyesight found that they could spot it – but only after looking away and coming back to the image.
One user said: “It’s so bizarre I couldn’t see it when I was looking, I looked away and saw it immediately when I looked back.”
Another replied and added: “I know! I swear I looked in that exact spot and there was nothing there, then I looked up and looked back and there he was :/”.
Others admitted that it took them a long time to find the bird.
One person commented: “That’s one superbly camouflaged owl. He’s an absolute genius and I’m a complete fool for missing him for so long. Hats off to you kid.”
Another person said, “That took too long!”
A third added: “I would NEVER have spotted it. It took me a while even after I was told.”
