dr. Earyn McGee, a scientist who focuses on the study of reptiles, posted the stunning image on Twitter, now known as X.

She said: “Lizards, like this tree lizard, have amazing camouflage! But sometimes predators do see them.

“It’s important that lizard habitats have crevices and vegetation where lizards can seek shelter.”

The image has gone viral as Twitter users try to find the lizard lurking in the woods.

A can can be seen inside the disfigured dried tree roots – but the lizard is much harder to see.
