You have the eyes of a hawk if you can spot ‘world’s most elusive’ big cat hiding in this optical illusion in 5 seconds

The “world’s most elusive cat” is so well camouflaged in this optical illusion that it’s almost impossible to spot it in five seconds.

But between the rocks and the snow lies a leopard, waiting impatiently to pounce.

The leopard is perfectly camouflaged in the rocky mountainous terrain.

The leopard is perfectly camouflaged in the rocky mountain terrain.

And once you see it, you’ll wonder how you missed it.

The stunning optical illusion was captured high in the Himalayas in northeastern India.

Photographer Saurabh Desai started walking in Spiti Valley in 2019 with a mission in mind.

“I was in search of the world’s most elusive cat, also known as the ‘Grey Ghost’ in the popular local language,” he told My Modern Met.

After almost three years of searching, Desai finally managed to capture a brown leopard about five miles from the village of Kibber at a high altitude.

The big cat seems to have seen it too, its piercing eyes looking directly at the camera.

Desai from Gujarat was completely “speechless” from the chance meeting.

He said: “The picture shows a snow leopard trying to get off a cliff.

“But noting our presence, he decided to wait until it got really dark and he stayed there on the edge.”

The reproduced image was taken at an altitude of 17,000 feet at about -30C.

Oxygen levels also dropped to less than 50 percent of normal.

Social media users were baffled by the photo, with some taking hours to spot the creature.

One said on Reddit: “I’ve seen this photo 643634 times and I’m always like, ‘where are you, you little bitch?'”

Another commented: “Honestly I can’t see any leopards…damn nature, you’re scary.”

And one said on Twitter: “After finding it… it becomes so obvious and easy to see.”
