Fatherhood has changed Zayn Malik’s TV tastes a bit.
In a behind-the-scenes video with NYLON, following his candid new interview, the “PILLOWTALK” singer revealed that he’s a sensitive guy, and some of the things that tug at his heartstrings include one of his daughter Khai’s favorite TV shows and movies.
“I’m actually quite a sensitive guy,” the 31-year-old singer told the paper. “I cry a lot in the cinema.”
When asked what was the last movie he cried at, he revealed that it was “probably a Disney movie,” adding that he watches a lot of them with his 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Khai shares an ex-girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid.
“They hit hard, man; it’s not a joke. Disney knows what they’re doing,” Malik said. “I actually cried at the cartoon, I don’t know if people know that. That’s called Bluey. It’s for the kids.”
Adding: “It makes me cry regularly. I do not know why.”
The singer applauded the show’s writers, saying: “They have amazing writers, and some of the stories are so bad for parents, you know?” He explained that “there’s always some underlying message to always be understood, man. They suffocate me, I end up crying.”

Bluey follows the adventures of a six-year-old puppy Blue Heeler, her four-year-old younger sister and their parents. The Australian series premiered in October 2018 and has since become one of the most popular shows for kids, with more than 20 billion minutes streamed on Disney+.
The third season ended in April 2024, and producer Sam Moor confirmed to the BBC that there would be a fourth season that month.

Malik and Hadid, 29, welcomed their daughter in September 2020. The former couple had an on-and-off relationship that lasted until their final split in October 2021.
“From the age of 21 to 27, I was with Gi, we had a child, and I didn’t have much time to get to know myself,” the singer told NYLON in the title story.
“It’s probably wise to take your time before fully investing in another human being as a lifelong partner,” said Malik, who added that he’s perfectly content with his quiet life on the farm, especially when it involves Khai.
“I only have my daughter 50% of the time,” he said NYLONadding that “I would have her 90% if I could.”
The former One Direction singer shared that he and Khai either go to the beach, “watch Disney on Ice or go see a Nickelodeon theme park,” noting that he “gets[s] out.”
