Zayn Malik is celebrating his birthday with an amazing treat!
On Sunday, January 12, the former One Direction singer turned 32 and took to his Instagram Stories to show off a stunning horror-themed gift that begs the question: Is it a cake?
“Thank you for all the birthday wishes, 32!!” he wrote a photo of him holding a The last of us– theme cake.
He took the opportunity to thank his fans for their support and generosity. “I’ve seen the projects you all create to help others and I couldn’t be more grateful,” he continued. “Thank you for raising funds for causes close to my heart.”

In another post on Instagram Stories, the singer offered another take on the cake, featuring a large bust of marbles, fungal dreads like zombies from The last of us video game franchise and HBO series of the same name. His name was emblazoned in big, bold letters at the base of the skin-tingling candy.

In the caption, Malik saluted the creator of the cake. “@thelondonbaker Thank you for this amazing piece of art, you are an absolute legend,” he wrote. “This cake is the best I’ve ever had…in 32 years!”

This is not the first time that the “Pillowtalk” singer received a deceptively-looking dessert for his birthday. When Malik turned 28 in 2021, ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid — who is huge The cake chef fan — commissioned celebrity baker Buddy Valastro to make him a Bradford City AFC-themed birthday cake.
The outfit resembled the English team’s brown and yellow striped jersey on the football field. On it was a scorecard that read: “Happy 28th Birthday Z! Love, G.”
Malik recently made headlines when he ended his Stairway to the Sky tour early, citing his vocal health as the reason he was unable to perform for his final UK stop in Newcastle.
