On July 30, 2006, Zoravar married Dildeep Sehgal, director of Massive restaurant. In an interview, Zoravar recalled how he met Dildeep Sehgal and said they met at a mutual friend’s party. He said,
Dildeep often goes to Delhi to relax with casual friends. We used to meet at many parties and in 2005, our relationship started budding. ”

In 2006, Zorawar founded his first startup, ZK Restaurant Concepts. In 2012, Zorawar established Massive Restaurants. Zorawar Kalra owns several fine dining restaurant brands in India and abroad such as Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Made in Punjab, Farzi Cafe, Pa Pa Ya, Masala Bar and BO-TAI. In an interview with Forbes India, Zorawar Kalra talked about his Farzi Cafe, which has a branch in London, and said:
Farzi Café London is a very avant-garde, avant-garde Indian restaurant. It takes global influences and gives it an Indian flavour. The menu is also unique, and while it features some signature dishes from Dubai, Riyadh and India, 90% is original to London. Our food has a lot of familiar flavors but is presented in completely different ways, so there’s always an element of surprise. We also took a lot of British ‘classics’ and gave them a ‘Farzified’ flair, which basically means we boldly added some Indian sensibility and flavour. ”

In 2016, Zoravar made her television debut as the host of the Hindi reality show MasterChef India Season 5.

In MasterChef India season 5, Zorawar Kalra replaces chef Sanjeev Kapoor as a judge on the reality show. In July 2022, Zorawar Kalra appeared as a participant in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa Season 10. In an interview, he talked about his participation in the dance show and said that he knew nothing about dance before participating in the show. He said,
I knew zero about dance and it was very hard on the body and soul for me. I want to represent ordinary people who want to learn dance but don’t have the ability or opportunity to do so. I’m here to entertain people and my job is done. but [in the process]at least I get to grow and learn a lot of dance techniques with my choreographer Suchitra (Sawant Sangare), who is incredible. ”

Tax office raids Zorava restaurant
In September 2019, the New Delhi Excise Department conducted a surprise inspection at Zorawar’s famous Thai restaurant in Mehrauli, New Delhi, after receiving information about irregularities. The restaurant reportedly served non-duty-paid alcohol and evaded duty. The restaurant was also found to be offering bottles of branded champagne, which is subject to excise tax only in Haryana. According to officials, the restaurant remained open after 1 a.m. despite the deadline for permission being 1 a.m. Zorawar spokesperson Amit Grewal discussed the matter in an interview and said:
All our restaurants comply with the law at all times. We are also cooperating with authorities in an investigation into one of our restaurants. ”

I was absolutely shocked by this response. We now operate in nine countries, which is great for a company that was founded nine years ago. Massive is proud to be a completely local brand. I feel like the best way to export culture is through food, and we’re doing that.
- In July 2022, Zorawar Kalra participated in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa Season 10; however, according to Zorawar, his son did not want him to participate in the dance reality show. In an interview, Zolawar spoke about his son’s reaction to his decision to participate in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 10 and said:
In fact, my son didn’t want me to do it because he thought my dancing poorly might embarrass him in front of his friends. He said no. But eventually, I decided to take it as a big challenge. It’s always good to overcome difficulties. So, that’s why I said yes. But it’s definitely not in my comfort zone. “
- From an early age, Zoravar was fascinated by cars. His first car was a used Honda Acura, which he purchased while studying for a graduate degree at Bentley University in the United States. During the interview, Zorava talked about his love for cars and revealed that he doesn’t like people touching his cars unless they are his close friends and relatives. He said,
I don’t usually allow too many people to touch my car, but close friends and relatives are definitely welcome. However, they must respect the car as it is very precious to me. ”
