There is a massive saturation of the video game Let’s Players on YouTube. From Markipler to Jacksepticeye to Hollow. They all manage to entertain the audience and have strong and well-earned fanbases. However, it’s noticeable that most of the bigger gaming YouTube channels are hosted by men.
Over the years, newer channels hosted by women have taken off but sadly, they do not get the same multi-million person fanbases. Also, thanks to the algorithm of YouTube, these women who put much time, effort, and talent into their content, are overshadowed by the larger YouTubers.
MegMage
Currently, at just over 25,000 subscribers, MegMage takes the approach of having rather long episodes that are over an hour long. As a result, her videos are almost like binge-watching sessions since not only does she play games such as The Witcher III and Horizon: Forbidden West, she’s rather sweet and entertaining.
For those looking for variety, MegMage also does some reaction videos, including her reactions to entire movies. For example, MegMage has been going through the timeline of Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Alliebeemac
In actuality, Alliebeemac is more of a Twitch streamer who plays everything from Marvel’s Spider-Man to Life Is Strange: True Colors to even iconic survival horror games such as Alan Wake. However, she does upload her stream VODs onto a YouTube channel.
As a result, some of Allie’s episodes are up to three hours long. Thankfully, Allie brings genuine joy, energy, and humor combined with some heartfelt reactions.
JazzyGuns
Jasmine and her husband Dwayne run their own YouTube channel covering all things nerdy and pop culture-related. However, Jasmine has her gaming channel known as JazzyGuns with over 535,000 subscribers and on this channel, Jasmine plays just about anything.
Recently she has been playing Mafia III, the new Evil Dead: The Game with all of its movie references, and Ghostwire: Tokyo. Jasmine not only provides a wide variety of video game content but also other types of videos, including Tier Lists. Along the way, Jasmine brings high energy and it’s obvious that she’s having fun which makes it even more entertaining for a viewer.
CacophonyandDiscord
This is a great channel to get into for horror game fanatics since that is Dani’s main chunk of content on CacophonyandDiscord when it comes to game playthroughs. However, she has breached into horror-adjacent games such as The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Dani has played through Bloodborne, Silent Hill, Elden Ring, Back 4 Blood, Fatal Frame, and so much more.
This has earned her a fanbase that is over 138,000 strong and rising. This is likely due to her more laidback attitude which is usually followed up with some well-delivered humor that makes Dani enjoyable to watch. As a bonus, Dani also makes the occasion cosplay music video that is fun to see.
Sarah Carlos
With just over 114,000 subscribers, Sarah Carlos has been providing content for over two years. Her first playthrough series was on the Final Fantasy VII Remake and after that, she played The Last Of Us Part II. From there, Sarah has covered many other games across different genres.
Sarah is not simply a gamer though, seeing how she has also done reviews of products, given makeup tutorials, has done unboxings, and delivered some reactions. One of her more stand-out unboxing videos featured her showcasing several of the Legacy lightsabers from Galaxy’s Edge.
Symbalily
Symbalily has been around for only over a year and she has already garnered over 40,000 subscribers. That’s a sign of how entertaining she is, giving a calm and soft-spoken vibe while she plays but she matches it with heartfelt reactions to what she plays.
Symbalily started her channel off with several big hits including Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. One of her most memorable series of recent was Bloodborne. It was her first experience with any of the infamously difficult Soulsborne games. As any fan will confirm, Bloodborne is one of the hardest in that genre.
Jonesy
One of the more recent channels to get a start, Jonesy has reached almost 6,000 subscribers through videos playing many modern classics. From fighting the many difficult bosses in Bloodborne to seeing the journey of Kratos across the classic God Of War trilogy.
As she says, Jonesy is not some elite gamer, she’s just someone trying to have fun and share it with the world. She does just that with a bright smile and just as bright of attitude, even when she’s being scared to death in horror games.
QueenTofu
This is another channel that provides a wide variety of different game playthroughs. From Titanfall 2 to Life Is Strange to Shadow Of The Colossus. QueenTofu has risen to have over 118,000 subscribers and she gives a warning right on her channel: she tends to swear and cries a lot.
Both are qualities that add to why every video she makes is a joy. It’s another case where it’s easy to see that Tofu is having a blast with each video and she’s not afraid to show it. As a result, when she smiles or laughs, it’s hard to not join her but that also goes for her crying which can be heartbreaking sometimes.
Marz
One of the higher subscriber counts, Marz has nearly 600,000 subscribers. Marz is one of the most down to Earth gamers and similar to Jonesy, she’s not trying to be this loud internet personality. She’s simply a gamer trying to share her experiences with the world and it’s hard to resist her charm.
Having been around for over four years, Marz has taken on many different games and conquered franchises. Horror games such as Outlast and several famous superhero-based games including the Arkham games and Marvel’s Spider-Man that’s just a small glimpse at the plethora of titles that Marz has covered.
LiteWeight Gaming
LiteWeight Gaming is a full-time YouTube gamer as well as a mother who has risen to over 62,000 subscribers. The journey has taken her through Red Dead Redemption II which is one of her biggest series although her recent Grand Theft Auto V videos have made a big splash. Where LiteWeight Gaming shines is that she has such bright and positive energy that can make anyone’s day feel better.
Her genuine responses to events in games will make anyone cheer for her or want to hug her. Plus, she admits that she’s far from an expert gamer which makes some of her game overs humorous to witness, especially if it’s a game where she has to drive or it’s something more challenging like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
