Tammy Slaton isn’t letting anyone downplay the progress she’s made on her weight loss journey.
It’s on Saturday 1000 lbs. Sisters star posted a video on TikTok in response to a person who commented on her recent post saying, “I hope you’re still focusing on losing weight. Looks like you’ve gained a few pounds! Not a hater, just a caring fan😭.”
“I didn’t gain weight,” insisted the 37-year-old. “I didn’t gain weight. It was the way the camera was tilted.”
The social media user was referring to a video of Slaton opening and promoting numerous giveaways from various small businesses that support her. Another person also commented on the video questioning why people are sending her candy and snacks while she’s trying to lose weight.
In another TikTok, Slaton responded, “I get what you’re saying, but if I want to help small businesses, I’ll let them send me candy or cookies. It’s up to me to push the candy away and not eat it. You can see that I have improved a lot and I am still improving every day.
“Please forgive me if I come across as rude or irritable because in a way I am. You don’t trust me,” she continued. “I have proven myself many times can lose weight, yes a.m weight loss and yes more i’m losing weight but you keep posting stuff like this and it offends me. Where is the faith? Where’s the trust?”

“I appreciate you trying to take care of me, but at the same time I’m the one who has to say no,” she finished. “I’m the one who has to push everything away…sweets, cookies, cake. I know it’s hard to believe, but I seriously don’t eat that stuff that much. No more. I don’t even crave sugar as much.”
Slaton has come a long way on her weight loss journey and recently documented some of her milestones in the last season 1000 lbs. Sisters. On the show, fans were able to see the reality star lose enough weight to fly on a plane for the first time during a family vacation in Pensacola, Florida.
In addition, Slaton was able to sit in the front seat of a car and fasten her seat belt for the first time. Last month, she opened up to PEOPLE about her accomplishments after shedding 440 lbs, down from her heyday of 725 lbs. She had bariatric surgery in July 2022 and now weighs 285 lbs.
“One of the big changes I’ve gone through this year is probably small to most people,” she told PEOPLE. “But for me it was huge.”
“Just to be able to walk without a walker or to be pushed by a wheelchair, and there is no oxygen. I don’t even sleep with him at night anymore,” Tammy boasts. “Back then you could put it in an ordinary vehicle, the front seat, and then the belt buckle, and now you don’t need to use an extender. So just what seems insignificant to some people is huge to me.”

dr. Eric Smith, medical director of the Kentucky Bariatric Institute, treated Slaton throughout her weight loss journey and even recalled the moment she told him she could buckle up in the car.
He admitted that he wanted her to continue to celebrate those victories without the scale, rather than the number on the scale.
“I remember the first time I got a picture she sent me of her riding in the front seat of a car with a seat belt on, things we can take for granted,” Smith told PEOPLE. “It was a huge achievement for her to come to my office in the back of a van with the seats removed because that was the only way they could transport her.”
“As for Tammy, I told her not to get so caught up in the number. Enjoy the ride there. I want her to enjoy what we call those victories without scale, the ability to be more mobile on her own,” he said at the time. “I’m proud of her for those weight or number goals, but what I’m most proud of are the goals she’s achieving to actually live a healthier and happier life.”
