Tammy Slaton has significantly reduced the amount of soda she drinks.
On Wednesday, 1000 lbs. Sisters star, 37, posted a video on TikTok responding to a follower who asked if she still drinks up to 12 cans of soda — which she calls “sodies” — every day.
“Actually no, I don’t drink juices that often anymore,” reveals the 37-year-old. “I mean, maybe two 12 oz. cans a day, sometimes not even that. Sometimes just one, sometimes none.”
“I mostly drink water now,” she says with a smile. “Or if I drink something else, it’s tea…diet tea or sugar-free Gatorades. I like to drink Crystal Light packets sometimes, things like that… but plain water.”

The fan’s question refers to the first season of the TLC series, which aired in 2020, when Tammy and her sister Amy first met with Taylor, the show’s dietitian, to discuss their unhealthy diet and love of soda.
When Taylor asked if the siblings even drank water, they both said no. “What do you drink during the day?” she asked before Amy replied, “Sodies….sodie pops.”
“How much do you think you drink a day?” continued the dietician.
Tammy said, “Oh… Eight to 12 [cans] day.”
During the episode, Amy was quick to clarify that they were drinking diet sodas, adding, “When we were younger, my mom told us that if we eat sugar, you drink a Diet Coke afterwards and it cancels out the sugar.”

Tammy and Amy have come a long way on their weight loss journeys since that first season, losing enough to qualify for surgery, which Tammy had in 2022 and Amy in 2020.
In May, Tammy posted several photos of herself drinking a bottle of Diet Coke, joking on her Instagram Story that she still loves soda even after her dramatic weight loss.
“LOL I’m a diet soda ambassador,” she wrote.
