Amazon Prime Video has a number of titles on the platform, ranging from Christmas classics like 1946’s It’s a Wonderful Life and 1954’s White Christmas to more modern family favorites like Elf starring Will Ferrell and Home Alone starring Macaulay Culkin. The streamer also has seasonal staples, like the animated sing-along-hit Frozen. For a good conversation starter this holiday season, Amazon Prime Video also made the infamously-debated Die Hard (is it or is it not a Christmas movie?) and the Tim Burton holiday film The Nightmare Before Christmas available to stream.

Eddie Murphy’s holiday-movie debut is sure to be sweet! Starring opposite Tracee Ellis Ross, Jillian Bell and more in the soon-to-be-released film Candy Cane Lane, Murphy’s got his work cut out for him this Christmas.
In fact, his character Chris finds himself in quite the yuletide pickle after making a Christmas wish that brings some unwanted consequences. According to a synopsis of the film, which is directed by Reginald Hudlin, Chris is “on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest.”

Whether you consider it a Christmas movie or not, this action-packed film is streamable! Originating from Roderick Thorp’s 1979 novel Nothing Lasts Forever, 1988’s Die Hard follows hard-nosed New York City cop John McClane (played by Bruce Willis) as he wages a one-man war against a band of cold-blooded thieves in Los Angeles.
As for whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie? The question has notoriously been debated since the film’s setting takes place on Dec. 25. However, it doesn’t employ any holiday-related themes or storylines despite being set on Christmas Day.
