Romeo Miller revealed why he’s thankful for his daughter River Rose this Thanksgiving.
The musician (34) shared on Instagram that his child, whose birth he announced in February 2022, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
“River Rose Miller aka my little rocket! Before I go to sleep tonight, on this special day I thank you and for you. Behind that beautiful smile is a fighter! I have never met a stronger man and I thank God every day for assigning me to be yours dad,” he wrote at the beginning of his caption.

The performer’s Instagram video included clips of his daughter resting on a hospital bed and wearing a medical gown. The post also included photos of River Rose and her father playing with her sister Winter. Miller announced Winter’s arrival in March, and he shares his daughter with his fiancee, Drew Sangster.
“At her age there are many challenges and random sleepovers in the hospital, but our faith has never wavered and little sister Winter and mom Drew are always there for her. Silver lining? Our bond is even stronger because I have to be there medically for my daughter,” he wrote is.

According to the Mayo Clinic, type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces “little or no insulin.” Although there is no cure, the organization advises that treatment can be achieved by “managing blood sugar with insulin, diet and lifestyle to prevent complications”.
Miller shared that his daughter’s medical diagnosis inspired him to provide “knowledge and access to anyone going through a similar journey.”

To end his post, Miller offered his followers blessings and wrote, “You never know what someone is going through, so be kind.” The comments section included messages of support. Loni Love wrote, “Prayers and positive vibes for the whole family # aunt.”
In an Instagram post in August filled with photos of Miller and his daughters, he shared that being a father is “the biggest adventure of my life.”
