28 Years Later Trailer Teases Zombified Cillian Murphy as Post-Apocalyptic Film Asks 'What Will Humanity Become?'

The first teaser trailer is out 28 years laterthe third installment of the Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland 28 days later franchise. And maybe just show the outcome of Cillian Murphy’s character, Jim.

Asking the question, “What will humanity become?”, the post-apocalyptic horror film picks up nearly three decades after the attack of a rage-inducing virus that caused society to crumble after it escaped from a bioweapons lab.

The audience saw chaos for the first time in 2002 28 days laterin which Murphy played a bicycle courier who wakes up from a coma in the middle of an epidemic. Sequel to Juan Carlos Fersnadillo’s 2007 28 weeks later it chronicled the efforts of NATO military forces as they tried to save the safe zone in London from the virus.

Murphy’s Jim was missing from the sequel, but reportedly appears in it 28 years later despite his name not being included in the official cast. The Oscar winner is even the executive producer of the film.

But viewers won’t see Murphy in the trailer – except, perhaps, for a brief shot of a zombie that bears an uncanny resemblance to the Irish star.
