49ers Fred Warner Admits Wife Sydney Usually Dresses Him for Game Days: ‘I Try to Keep It Formal’ (Exclusive)

Fred Warner reveals who is really behind styling his game day outfits.

In an interview with PEOPLE about his partnership with KAY Jewelers, the 27-year-old San Francisco 49ers player shared that his wife, Sydney, often helps him pick out his game-day outfit.

“My wife is usually the one who dresses me in a lot,” Fred tells PEOPLE. “But I try to keep things formal for away games with a suit look. And then at home games, it’s more of a luxury casual feel.”

“But I try to do everything that allows me to feel comfortable and confident going into the game,” he adds.

Fred, who is currently expecting a baby boy with Sydney, adds that he has extra special outfits planned for the Super Bowl – which airs on February 11 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. (He wouldn’t reveal any major details other than the KAY Jewelers hoop earrings that are part of his collection.)

She says of the look: “It’s another suit and it’s something I’m trying to keep as a bit of a surprise for everyone, but it’s going to be something that looks really good and I’m excited to wear it.”

Aside from helping with his clothes, Fred says Sydney, who was recently cleared to fly to the Super Bowl at 35 weeks pregnant, has been his biggest support system.

“She always keeps me grounded in terms of keeping things in perspective,” the lineman says. “She’s currently eight months pregnant with our first-born son, so that’s something I’m trying to balance. I’m making sure I’m giving her what she needs as well as preparing for the Super Bowl.”

He continues, “So this is a really special time in our lives.”

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, which airs on CBS on February 11th at 6:30pm ET.
