School in Maharashtra closed due to heavy rain

Schools in Maharashtra closed due to rain: Schools and colleges in Raigad of Maharashtra will remain closed today due to heavy rain. According to the latest reports, the state has received heavy rain in the past few days. Raigad District Collector Yogesh Mhase has declared all schools and colleges closed due to heavy rains in the area.

According to reports, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Palghar and Raigad districts and an orange alert for Thane, Mumbai and Ratnagiri districts today. IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations resulting in orange warnings in Mumbai and red warnings in Palghar, Raida until 19 July 2023.

Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Mumbai receives heavy to very heavy rain with an average rainfall of 88.24 mm.

IMD has also warned Palghar and Thane districts until 20 July 2023 and Raigad will be on orange alert until 21 July 2023. Palghar district cashier has warned residents not to out and in the house.

Schools closed in other areas

According to media reports, IMD Hyderabad has issued heavy rainfall warnings in several districts of Telangana on 20 and 21 July 2023. Based on rainfall forecast for today and tomorrow, government is expected to order the closure of schools in the state. Officials will update the details regarding the same.

Schools in Delhi also remain closed until 18 July 2023 due to high water levels in Yamuna.
