Big Ed Brown is taking a break from relationships.
The Fiancé of 90 days star, 59, spoke with Hey! at the American Reality TV Awards on Nov. 18 about his past relationships, including a short-lived engagement to Porscha Raymond. In September, Big Ed proposed to Raemond after only knowing her for 24 hours, but the couple called it quits less than a week later.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m very spontaneous, just like I am in the show,” he told the newspaper. “And the funny thing is that when you’re on reality TV and in real life, it’s kind of the same. The only difference is that with TLC, the cameras are in front of you. So that’s who I am on camera and off.”
“I felt a connection with the girl,” he continued. “Unfortunately, the media went after her and that scared her.”

The TV personality, who was previously engaged to Liz Woods (15 times) and Rose Vega, noted that he wants to “be single for a while” – but not forever.
“I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned is: Number one, never give up,” he said. “And it’s a numbers game, so if you ask 100 girls out, 10 percent will say yes. 90 percent will say no. So I guess the key is to follow your heart, follow your dreams and never give up.”

In September, Big Ed told Page Six he was “flabbergasted” when Raemond walked into a fan gathering in Florida, calling her “this beautiful Italian dish.” He went on to describe her as his “dream girl”, saying they “hit it off” after meeting and made plans for the next night.
He then told a friend, “This is the one,” adding, “I want to ask her to marry me,” prompting the friend to pop the question.
Big Ed made a ring with a paper clip and proposed to her in the restaurant, where everyone “went crazy”.
“I [told her]’Look, I never want to let you go,’ he recalled. “’I think I met one. I want to marry you.’ And she said, ‘Yes,’ and we hugged and kissed.”

Four days later, on September 23, Big Ed announced on Instagram that he and the 29-year-old had called off their engagement.
“Love is a crazy thing… I did something that was impulsive, I asked this girl to marry me and after thinking about it… It’s too soon and it’s not what I want, obviously,” he said in the video. “After talking with my family, I realized that I don’t want to get married. I want to be free. Therefore, I wish her – Porscha – all the best in life.”
